Skill System in Black Myth: Wukong
The skill system in the game is not very complicated. I’ll give an overview before moving on to the best spells.
How to earn and spend Sparks
In Black Myth: Wukong, if you want to unlock and upgrade skills, you will need Sparks. However, you can only get Sparks through two methods:
- Leveling up: As you level up, you earn Sparks—it’s as simple as that. However, you only receive one Spark per level.
- Meditation spots: These spots are scattered across the map. Upon discovering one, you receive a Spark the first time you visit it.
To spend your Sparks, first go to the Self-Advance menu from the pause screen. You can then invest your Sparks in various skill trees.
In my opinion, you should choose skills that suit your play style. Now, I’ll tell you which skills are best for each skill tree.

What You Need To Do? (Personal Experience)
I have divided my gameplay experience into three parts. One, early game, two, mid-game, and three, late-game.
Early game priorities (Levels 1-20)
My early game priorities were when I was in between level 1-20. Here are the skills I did:
- Robust Constitution and Rampant Vigor: I can’t play a game if my health and stamina are low. I love to run and fight any enemy in my path. So, these skills increase my health and stamina so that I can do what I love the most.
- Simian Agility: You already know I love to fight, so this skill is a must for me, as it allows me to dodge efficiently.
- Smash Stance upgrades: For these upgrades, I went with Force Unbound and Resolute Counterflow.
- As soon as I reached level 5, I unlocked Pillar Stance. Oh boy, this skill has helped me win so many battles.
- Immobilize upgrades: If you want to have a great time with enemies or bosses, you need to keep these upgrades up and running. In my case, I prioritized Stagnation and Evanescence.
Mid-game power spikes (Levels 20-40)
You need to change your strategies when you reach level 20. I consider levels 20 to 40 as the mid-game.
- Firstly, I unlocked Thrust Stance and upgraded it. Those archers were a pain, so I wanted to eliminate them before they could attack.
- You should also invest in critical hit skills. In my case, I focused on Wrathful Escalation and Wrathful Might.
- Please, do yourself a favor and unlock Cloud Step and its key upgrades. You can literally close the distance with your enemies invisibly.
- Lastly, but not least, don’t forget the Foundation skills. I’ve already mentioned the best Foundation skills, so keep upgrading them for an overall power increase.
Late-game adjustments (Levels 40+)
From this point, you have a good idea of what to do. Here’s what I did:
- I maxed out my A Pluck of Many and its upgrades. I wanted my copies to be in the best shape.
- I also maxed out my Focus points through Staff Stance investments.
- As for everything else, I recommend unlocking and upgrading all the best skills mentioned above.
In the end, if you want to become proficient in Black Myth: Wukong, you need dedication and the ability to practice. Focus on perfecting your dodging and parrying timing. Learn how to use Focus attacks and transformations efficiently. Additionally, balance offense and defense through skill synergies.
I have mentioned the best skills you can use in Black Myth: Wukong, but please be sure to experiment with skills according to your play style. Remember, the journey of the Destined One is your own. I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy playing the game.
