TennoCon 2026 went down on July 11 in London, Ontario, and Digital Extremes did not hold back. This was pitched as the biggest event in Warframe history, and the reveal list backs that up. We got the next major narrative chapter, a brand new detective Warframe, Warframe’s first ever card game, a named fall update, a Fortnite crossover, and a stack of Soulframe news to close the night. Here is everything that was announced, broken down so you can find exactly what you care about.

Warframe: Tau Is the Next Major Chapter

The headline reveal was Warframe: Tau, the next Narrative Chapter, and the biggest one yet. For the first time in the game’s history, players are heading beyond the Origin System into an all-new Star Chart called the Tau System, which orbits a binary star. It launches for free on all platforms later in 2026.

Your journey starts in Fornax, a lawless Sentient ring city, soaked in madness-inducing black rain. The TennoCon gameplay demo had players sneaking through the slums and docks, past addicts and thugs, to reach a casino sitting right in the heart of the city. Albrecht Entrati is waiting there for the return of the Tenno, and Digital Extremes says Fornax is only the beginning. A second, still unrevealed location will arrive alongside the full update.

Here is what Tau brings with it:

  • A new Star Chart and star system to explore, expanding well beyond the Origin System
  • Fornax, a living Sentient metropolis full of high-end casinos, grimy shipping docks, and rundown slums
  • The Hunra, a ruthless crime boss voiced by Jonathan Bullock, who rules the city through an addictive substance called Bloom
  • The Fornax Drowners, a new enemy faction of Sentients that evolved very differently from the ones we know
  • An original noir trip-hop soundtrack, with new music performed by Canadian vocalist Jill Harris

The whole thing plays out like a sci-fi detective and mafia story, which is a genuinely fresh tone for Warframe.

Meet Brysko, the New Detective Warframe

Leading you through Tau is Brysko, and he immediately stole the show. The community is already calling him Warframe’s first proper detective frame, and the noir styling makes it obvious why.

Brysko is not a Protoframe. He is a Chimeraframe, which appears to be a fusion of Warframe and Sentient that goes even further than what Caliban offers. Brought back to life by Albrecht Entrati, he is silent to the outside world but alive with an inner monologue, and that monologue is voiced by Matthew Mercer. He was built for a single mission, to infiltrate The Hunra’s inner circle.

Despite the detective branding, Brysko is a brawler at heart. His kit leans into close-range punishment:

  • Rain and Shine, his signature brass knuckles melee weapon
  • Explosive playing cards used as a throwable
  • The Corecracker, an Exalted revolver magnum

Filipe Bento modeled the frame, and it looks the part with a sleek gold and copper build, glowing blue energy channels, and sharp predatory lines around the head and shoulders. During the demo, Brysko took on a pair of linked twins who can fight together or split apart, which looks like a strong candidate for a recurring boss fight.

Portau, Warframe’s First Card Mini-Game

Tau also introduces Portau, the first playable card game in Warframe. It riffs on poker but runs on its own custom system built around Blooms, Cores, Moons, and Suns. It is described as extremely popular in The Hunra’s gambling dens, so expect to be betting your way through Fornax as part of the experience. If you have ever wanted your Warframe downtime to feel a little like Gwent, this is that.

Iceblade of Narin Is the Fall Update

Before Tau lands, Warframe has a fall update on the way, and this year, Digital Extremes actually named it ahead of time. It is called Iceblade of Narin, and it looks to be taking us back around the Cetus and Ostron regions.

The update introduces the game’s 66th Warframe, Narin, who is ice-themed and fills a gap that only Frost has occupied until now. Here is the rest of what to expect:

  • Narin, the new ice-themed Warframe
  • A Banshee rework aimed at improving her sound-based abilities and general playability
  • Banshee’s first Deluxe Collection since 2016, a nightmare and nocturnal themed set designed by community artist Mischka
  • A Qorvex Deluxe skin inspired by gargoyles and gothic architecture
  • Citrine Prime Access, with Citrine Prime bringing an Orokin golden age look alongside new Prime weapons and accessories
  • A new Prime weapon, the Steflos

Full details are coming at the next Devstream on September 4, which is being hosted in Seoul, South Korea.

Nightwave Gets Reworked Into Shockwave

New Nightwave Warframe

Warframe’s battle pass style system, Nightwave, is getting a fresh take called Shockwave. It will be hosted by Protoframe Amir, tied to Volt, giving the seasonal grind a new face and framing.

Fortnite Crossover and the Mesa Heirloom Collection

Warframe is crossing over into Fortnite for the first time. The collab adds an Excalibur Outfit, letting Fortnite players drop onto the Island as the franchise’s original swordsman.

On top of that, the Mesa Heirloom Collection is live right now. It leans into a gunslinger and old west fantasy, complete with a brimmed Signa, a travel-worn Duster, cowboy styling, and a slick revolver spinning animation.

Soulframe Closed Out the Night

Soulframe had its own keynote earlier in the day, but the TennoLive finale demo added a lot more. The big one for longtime followers is that mounts are finally arriving, and the answer to the most asked question is this fall.

Other Soulframe reveals included:

  • Tempest Bayor, a new antagonist voiced by Ben Starr, who also voices Arthur in Warframe 1999, is complete with a song of his own
  • A first glimpse at the Citadel in the sky
  • New playable perspectives, including playing as your mom, your younger self, and a beaver named Beaver the Brave, which got a huge crowd reaction
  • Boomerang-based harvesting and combat, plus a whip sword
  • The corrupted Vatigar Pact, a new progression path described as the anti-Virtue for players who want to go full edgelord
  • A new fishing mini-game
  • An Open Preludes Weekend that lets everyone jump in through the weekend

TennoVIP World Tour and TennoCon 2027

Digital Extremes is taking the show on the road again with the TennoVIP World Tour 2026, with developer stops planned for South Korea, China, London, and Glasgow. TennoCon itself returns to London, Ontario, on July 16 and 17, 2027, for its next outing.

When Does Warframe: Tau Release?

Digital Extremes has only committed to a later this year window for Warframe: Tau, with no firm date yet. The studio confirmed there is more of the Tau System still to show before launch, so expect more reveals across the coming Devstreams, starting with the September 4 stream out of Seoul.
