Ahead of the 2021 preseason, Riot reveals all the champions who are getting new skins in 2020.
Riot was getting a lot of backlashes from the League community for only prioritizing popular champions for new skins and overlooking unpopular champion. However, in the 2020 champion roadmap, Riot shared their goal for releasing new skins for unpopular champions who haven’t gotten any new skins in 1000 or more days.
In the meantime, they have already released new skins for champions like Xerath, Kindred, Taliyah, and some other champions in 2020. Subsequently, they have also teased new skins for Skarner, Ornn, and Nautilus. Moreover, Riot Games has already fulfilled their goals of releasing 120 skins in 2020 and now planning on releasing 140 skins by the end of this year.
“We’re delighted to let folks know that we’re still on track to hit our target of 120 skins,” Riot Bellissimoh said on the latest dev post. “In fact, it’s looking like we’re going to be able to exceed our goal and hit close to 140 skins by the end of 2020.”
Apart from Nautilus, Skarner, and Ornn here are the eight champions who haven’t gotten skins in a while are getting new skins by the end of 2020:
- Anivia
- Aurelion Sol
- Azir
- Illaoi
- Ivern
- Singed
- Yorick
- Zac
Meanwhile, Riot has already teased the splash art for the upcoming new skin of Aurelion Sol, Singed, and Zac.

The release date and the name of the skins are yet to be announced. But we can expect to see them in the Summoner’s rift after the Worlds patch.
