In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are a total of 8 different gyms the player can take on. Each gym has its own theme to it and is located in a big city on the map. Before you challenge the gym leaders, you will have to beat a mini-game. Then you can challenge the leader for the gym badge.

How to Beat Ice Gym in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Ice gym is a late-game gym in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. As the name suggests, the gym includes all the ice Pokemon. If you are doing gyms based on the level, the ice gym will end up being the last gym you fight. So it can be tough without the right Pokemon in your party.

The gym test mini-game is very easy in this one. All you have to do is run down a slope using your mount within the time limit. The time limit is generous enough, and the obstacle is not too hard. So it is a fairly easy challenge to overcome before you take on the leader. Once you challenge the leader, the final fight will initiate.

The gym leader of ghost gym has the following Pokemon:

  • Frosmoth – Level 47 Ice/Bug type
  • Beartic – Level 47 Ice type
  • Cetitan – Level 47 Ice type
  • Altaria – Level 48 Dragon/Flying with Ice Tera Type

Since the Pokemon on ice gym is mainly ice types, you need to have types that counter ice. Fire, fighting, rock, and steel will be good types in this gym to use. Since you are already in the late game, you should have a good collection of Pokemon to choose from.

If you have picked Fuecoco or Quaxly as a starter, they are both good for this battle. Quaxly gains fighting type as it evolves, while Fuecoco is already a fire type. But if you have picked Sprigatito, you can use any other Fire type to replace it in your party.

If you want to catch Pokemon from nearby regions to build a party for your battle, then Magneton (Electric/Steel), Bronzong (Steel/Psychic), and Carbominable (Fighting/Ice) can be found in the nearby Glaseado Mountain area. You can catch them and use them in the battle to get an edge over your opponent. Just make sure they have the same or more level than your opponent’s Pokemon.
