Payday 3’s early access launch has been successful so far. However, PS5 users aren’t too happy with what they got.
Payday 3 is a much-anticipated sequel to popular co-op FPS shooters Payday: The Heist and Payday 2. After a decade, Starbreeze has released Payday 3 early access, and the full game will be available on September 21, 2023.
For the most part, the early access release has been pretty successful for PC and Xbox Series X|S players. However, for PS5 players, this isn’t the case, as they have reportedly gotten an outdated version of the game.

Payday 3 is Running the Beta Version on PS5
According to PS5 users, Payday 3 early access runs the beta build instead of the launch build that PC and Xbox players received. Fortunately, Starbreeze has responded to what is causing it.
Andreas Häll Penninger, the franchise’s lead producer, claimed that Sony, not Starbreeze, is to blame for the problem with the older version of Payday 3 PS5. However, Sony is looking into this issue and will roll out the proper patch very soon.
Naturally, PS5 users who pre-ordered the game are pretty upset about the situation. Moreover, there isn’t an ETA on when the fix will come out. There’s nothing you can do to fix this yourself. However, expect a patch for PS5 very soon.
Update:
The new version of Payday 3 is now available for PS5 users.
