Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 will get sixteen remastered classic MW2 maps at launch.
Sledgehammer Games is developing the latest Call of Duty 2023. The last entry in the rebooted MW saga, Modern Warfare 3, will continue the TF141 storyline. Aside from the campaign, MW3 will also get a revamped multiplayer mode.
However, the good news for CoD enthusiasts is the return of the classic maps from the original MW2 (2009) in MW3. Sledgehammer Games has finally confirmed that they will add 16 remastered maps in Modern Warfare 3 on day one.

All Classic Remastered Maps at Launch
As previously revealed, Modern Warfare 3 will launch with modernized versions of these 16 Core MW2 (2009) maps, constructed to maintain the authenticity and accuracy of the originals. Sledgehammer Games’ Art Director Matt Abbott shared how they accurately brought these maps back to life for players to enjoy in MW3.
Here are all the maps confirmed for Modern Warfare 3:

- Derail
- Estate
- Favela
- Highrise
- Invasion
- Karachi
- Quarry
- Rundown
- Rust
- Scrapyard
- Skidrow
- Sub Base
- Terminal
- Underpass
- Wasteland
These sixteen maps were first leaked by BobNetworkUk in a series of leaks last month. Players were extremely happy as the community loved classic MW2 maps. Moreover, with the modern engine, the maps will play even better.
The class MW2 maps will be available for all game modes, including Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Domination, Headquarters, and more. Moreover, these maps might also be a part of the Ranked Map pool.
