Modern Warfare 3 will reportedly get massive movement changes, including the return of many fan-favorite features.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2. The game will be the first CoD franchise title to get a consecutive release. Previously, all CoD titles were released after a 2-year window.

Sledgehammer Games heads Modern Warfare 3’s development in collaboration with Infinity Ward and Treyarch. The game’s campaign will be a direct continuation of the MW2 saga, however, the multiplayer will get a complete revamp.

In addition to gameplay changes, MW3 will feature massive movement changes. These changes include the return of slide canceling and a new Tac-stance mechanic. Let’s take an in-depth look at the all-new movement changes.

Modern Warfare 3 All Movement Changes

Modern Warfare 3 will receive a complete revamp of the movement system, including the return of the most requested Slide Cancel feature. With Slide Canceling and other changes, the overall movement in MW3 will be much faster than in MW2. Let’s take a look at the upcoming movement changes coming with Modern Warfare 3:

Slide Candel Returns

After MW 2019’s release, Slide Canceling became an important movement mechanism for Call of Duty fans. However, Activision removed this neat movement technique against players’ wills. Since then, players have been asking the developers to bring back Slide Canceling in Call of Duty.

MW2 didn’t listen to community feedback and received massive backlash in return. However, this time the developers won’t follow in the footsteps of MW2 and finally give players what they want by returning them the most wanted movement technique. Surely, they’ll make some changes to the Slide Cancel feature to keep it balanced.

Here’s what to expect from MW3’s slide cancel feature:

  • Players can now Slide Cancel, but it does not reset Tactical Sprint.
  • Players can cancel partial Reloads during an animation (reload cancel) to immediately return fire.
  • Mantling is faster, and players can Mantle while Sprinting.
  • Players can fire during and immediately after Sliding.
  • Tactical Sprint durations are increased.
  • Tactical Sprint recharges while Sprinting.

New Tac-Stance Mechanic

Players can now breach and clear with the new Tactical Stance feature, a perfect middle-ground between hip-fire and aiming down sights. When entering tight hallways and cramped rooms, toggle Tac-Stance on to improve weapon performance and win the fight.

Here’s what to expect from Tac-Stance:

  • The operator unshoulders the weapon and holds it in a canted firing position.
  • Players can toggle in and out of Tac-Stance dynamically while aiming down sights.
  • Tac-Stance trades precise accuracy for improved mobility and handling.
  • Some spread to overall firing will occur, best described as a middle ground between full ADS and hipfire.
  • It is designed to be used in aggressive, close-quarter combat situations.
  • By default, players fire in Tac-Stance while Sliding.
