Activision officially hinted that the famous Zombies mode will be returning in the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 title.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been officially announced. The previous rumors and speculations regarding no new Call of Duty game arriving in 2023 proved to be wrong when Activision officially dropped the MW3 trailer.
Although a huge portion of the player base is still skeptical about the game’s content, most players are really glad to see the continuation of their favorite franchise. Moreover, with Mararov’s reappearance and all 16 classic MW2 maps’ returning, MW3’s content does not seem so bland after all.
On top of that, the recent confirmation of the Zombies mode returning to MW3 raised the game’s hype many times higher. Here’s everything you need to know regarding MW3 Zombies mode.

Zombies May Return to MW3 as Outbreak 2.0
In the MW3 announcement trailer, Activision included an Easter egg that directed viewers to a phone number. Upon interacting, the phone number gave away many secrets, including a hint that Zombies mode will return to Call of Duty with the MW3 title.
As you can notice, upon sending “Zombies” as a text to the secretly teased number, a reply returns with an audio recording of a Zombie growling. Although many may argue that an audio recording with Zombie growling doesn’t confirm the mode returning to the game, it doesn’t make sense for Activision to hype up players if they’re not releasing the mode anyway.
Not to mention, the Zombies mode was also previously leaked by various sources, including Insider Gaming, further confirming the mode’s arrival. However, an important thing to note is that, according to Insider Gaming, the new Zombie mode will be a reiteration of Cold War Outbreak instead of the traditional Zombies.
Fortunately, Outbreak was heavily praised by the fanbase for its unique approach to the Zombies compared to the traditional one-dimensional gameplay. So, if MW3 Zombies is just Outbreak 2.0, the community will likely prefer it more than the regular Zombies gameplay. So, everyone wins here.
