Riot is looking to make some massive changes in Patch 13.20.

The last couple of patches in League of Legends have been pretty small in comparison. To avoid a significant meta-shift right before Worlds 2023 began, Riot had decided to make only minor adjustments. But now that the Worlds patch, Patch 13.19, has finally dropped, Riot is pulling out all the stops.

Riot Phroxzon, the Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends, has recently revealed the patch preview for the upcoming patch. And from the looks of it, it will be a massive patch.

We are getting yet another batch of Jungle changes in the patch. Starting & Support items are getting buffs all across the board. Also, Dragons are getting some massive changes as well. Additionally, strong champions like Bel’Veth, Kai’Sa, and Zed are getting some nerfs, too.

In this article, we will focus on the nerfs and see how these would affect the game.

Patch 13.20 Nerfs

Here are all the nerfs coming in the patch,

Champion Nerfs

Akshan

Akshan and Quinn have been two of the strongest Top Lane champions for the last couple of patches. Due to their Range and early-game damage, it’s pretty hard to deal with these champions. Additionally, they scale pretty well into the late game as well.

Thus, Riot is nerfing these champions.

Bel’Veth

  • Passive – Death in Lavender
    • Bonus Attack Speed after spell cast: 25-50% >>> 20-40%
  • E – Royal Maelstrom
    • Damage Reduction: 70% >>> 50-70%
    • Damage: 8-16(+6% AD) >>> 7-11(+8% AD)
    • On-hit damage: 6% >>> 8%
    • Can now Critically Strike
  • R – Endless Banquet
    • Void Remora Health: 40-60% >>> 20-70%

Bel’Veth’s early-game power and snowball potential are going down significantly. But to compensate for the nerfs, her late-game is getting even stronger.

Kai’Sa

Kai’Sa has been pretty strong for the last couple of patches. But with the new Umbral Glaive build, she seems to be even stronger. So Riot is toning down her power level a little, especially for the Elite level.

Quinn

  • Base Stats:
    • Health: 603 >>> 565.
    • Attack Damage Growth: 2.4 >>> 2.7.
    • Movement Speed: 335 >>> 330.

Similar to Akshan, Quinn is also getting some big nerfs in Patch 13.20. Her Base Health, Attack Damage Growth, and Movement Speed are going down significantly

Zed

  • W – Living Shadow:
    • Cooldown: 20/18.5/17/15.5/14 seconds >>> 20/19.25/18.5/17.75/17 seconds.

The interactions between Ravenous Hydra and Zed seem to have made him quite strong. Zed’s near-instant waveclear, along with the absurd amount of Abulity Haste he gets from items, makes him a pretty hard champion to deal with. So, Riot will be nerfing Zed next patch.

System Nerfs

Duskblade of Draktharr

Even after multiple nerfs and adjustments, Duskblade of Draktharr remains way too strong. Thus, on Patch 13.20, Riot is nerfing the item once again.

Release Date

The aforementioned nerfs will hit live servers on Patch 13.20, which will be released on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
