The upcoming Ahri skin released with her ASU, Lunar New Year Ahri, has been leaked.
Lunar New Year is the beginning of the calendar, whose months are based on moon cycles. As it is a traditional festival in China, it is also known as “Chinese New Year.” Almost every game and media celebrate this event, and League of Legends is no expectation.
Since 2011, League of Legends has celebrated Lunar New Year in one way or another. In 2011, Riot released only one skin to celebrate the occasion, Lion Dance Kog’Maw. But in the following years, Riot started to release complete skin lines.
There are many memorable lunar skin lines. Some of them are Firecracker, Warring Kingdoms, Mecha Kingdoms, Shan Hai, Lunar Wraith, Lunar Beasts, etc.
Similarly to previous years, we will also see another lunar skin line this year. Moreover, the prominent League of Legends leaker, BigBadBear, leaked that the next champion to receive a lunar skin would be Ahri.

Lunar New Year Ahri Leaked
Ahri is the upcoming champion that is slated to receive an ASU. ASU, or Art and Sustainability Update, is a new type of champion rework that only overhauls the champion’s visual without changing their kit. Caitlyn was the first champion to receive such rework. And her rework was a huge success.
Alongside Caitlyn’s ASU, she also received a new skin, Arcane Caitlyn. Similarly, we should see a new skin when Ahri’s ASU drops. The leaker, BigBadBear, also leaked that we would be getting her ASU in patch 13.1.
As the 2023 Lunar New Year is the year of the rabbit, we will see rabbit-themed skin. Moreover, the leaker stated that the skin would have a “bunny mask” similar to the Porcelain skin line.
Release Date
Even though Riot did not officially reveal any patch date for season 13, the leaker revealed that patch 13.1 would go live in January. Moreover, Lunar New Year 2023 will take place on January 22, 2023. So should see the Lunar New Year Ahri alongside her prestige before that period.
