Riot Games is nerfing the jungle role in League of Legends Patch 11.4 because it is “holding too much influence over the game.”
At the start of Season 10, Jungle received some major changes as junglers were pretty much down by 2-4 levels in most of the games. However, after that buff, fast jungle clearing champions became meta once again and took over the game. Even though most of the “overpowered” champions were nerfed last season, in the 2021 preseason, Riot made the “Jungle path more diverse and easier for new players.”
With the help of the new XP changes and the removal of the starter jungle items, Jungle as a role became the most influential role in League of Legends in early Season 11. Currently, the game is determined by which team’s jungler can snowball the early game and lead the team to victory.
As in season 11, the Jungle role is carrying too much power, Riot Games is bringing in some major nerf to the role in Patch 11.4.
“These (changes) should take Jungle power levels down to season 10 levels,” League of Legends Gameplay Design Director Mark “Scruffy” Yetter said. “Currently, the position is holding too much influence over the game.”

The League of Legends community, however, is showing a mixed reaction. Some think the new jungle changes are great, and it will definitely lower the Jungle influence, but a lot of players think this is a bad idea, and lowering the jungle XP will only lead the jungler to come to the lanes and take XP.
The new Jungle nerfs are expected to go live on patch 11.4 which is scheduled for February 18, 2021.
