Here are all the jungle-related changes coming to League of Legends on patch 13.21.

Jungle is one of the most influential roles in League of Legends. Regardless of how meta the role is, if a player gains a lead as a jungler, he can easily dominate the game. On the other hand, the jungle is a hard role to get into. Therefore, there are players who are intimidated by the role.

Because of this, in prior seasons, Riot made the jungle role easier and more accessible. Thus, unexpectedly, the role became even more broken. Not only that, the cheese strategy that would never work in previous seasons works flawlessly now. These new strategies made the game un-fun for many people. Not only that, according to Riot, junglers have the highest impact in any League of Legends match. Due to this, Riot heavily nerfed jungle a lot in the last patch.

While a lot of experienced junglers got used to the new changes, others were struggling to keep up with the meta. Therefore, the role was not fun for them anymore.

As patch 13.21 is on the horizon, Riot has revealed all the upcoming changes coming to the game. One of them is the jungle changes.

League of Legends Patch 13.21: Jungle Changes

  • Jungle Companion Damage: 16 (+10% AP) (+20% bonus armor) (+20% bonus magic resistance) (+3% bonus health) ⇒ 15.5 (+12% AP) (+10% bonus AD) (+20% bonus armor) (+20% bonus magic resistance) (+3% bonus health)
  • Jungle Companion Healing per Second: 70% of damage dealt, capped at 12-45 (levels 1-12) ⇒ 12-35 (levels 1-10) (Note: This is now flat guaranteed healing instead of a ratio and a cap)
  • Heal on Monster Kills: 12% Missing Health ⇒ 36-90 (levels 1-10) (up to 2.25x based on missing health)
  • Mana on Monster Kills:20% Missing Mana ⇒ 19-87 (levels 1-18) (up to 2.25x based on missing mana)

So here is a quick rundown of the changes. Firstly, the jungle companion damage increases as Riot adds both AP and bonus AD scaling. So, the more items you build, the more damage your jungle companion deals.

Healing and mana regen is also getting some changes. Firstly, instead of gaining health based on percent damage health, now you have a flat rate. Similarly, you also gain flat heals on monster kills instead of percent missing health. Likewise, there will also be flat mana regen on monster kills instead of being based on missing mana.

Like patch 13.20, this patch’s jungle patch looks interesting. However, it won’t shake up the meta as the previous patch. So, we can still expect junglers to run the same strategy as before since they are still viable.
