Riot claims that Jungle is currently stronger than any other role in the game.
The Jungle role is one of the most unique roles in League of Legends. It’s a role that, unlike other roles in the game, focuses on roaming, taking objectives, and helping out teammates. However, due to its uniqueness and how the role functions, it has been one of the hardest roles to balance for Riot.
For the last couple of years, Riot has been trying to balance the role. Even earlier in Season 13, Riot Reworked the Jungle and added new elements like Jungle Pets, added back Catch-up EXP, removed Double Camping, and so on.
Unfortunately, these changes backfired, and Riot made the role even stronger and more frustrating to play against. Thus, Riot has been trying to weaken the role for the last couple of months. But it seems that Riot has not been successful in their attempt to balance the Jungle role.
On the contrary, the role has become so problematic that Riot straight-up admitted that the role was currently unbalanced.

Jungle Being Stronger Than Other Roles
In a recent stream, Riot Phreak, a Game Designer for League of Legends, shared his thoughts about the current state of the Jungle role. According to him, Jungle as a role is about 20% stronger than any other role in the game. Thus the role is in need of some heavy nerfs. Riot Phreak stated that a nerf of 15% power would be a reasonable nerf for the role.
In addition, Riot also announced some major nerfs for the role in Patch 13.17.
Why Jungle Changes Got Reverted on PBE?
During the recent PBE update, Riot implemented some huge Jungle changes to the server. First of all, epic monster damage reduction was reduced from 20% to 5%. All the Pets except the Scorchclaw were nerfed.
Gustwalker had its brush movement speed reduced from 45% to 35%, and also takedown movement speed reduced by 15%. Mosstomper’s tenacity and slow resistance decreased by 10%, and its shield was changed from 60 – 281 to (1 – 18) to 120 – 220 (8 – 18).
In addition, popular Junglers like Evelynn, Kayn, Kha’Zix, and Kindred were also being nerfed.
That said, it seems Riot has recently reverted the Pet changes. But why were the changes reverted? It is still unknown.
Will Jungle Get Rework in the 2024 Preseason?
With all the recent controversy surrounding Jungle, many speculate that the role will get yet another rework. However, since Riot has not confirmed anything yet, it is pretty hard to determine whether we will get a rework. But judging by how unbalanced Jungle is currently, we would definitely see some major changes in the 2024 Preseason.
