Here is how you can build an iron farm in Minecraft.
Steps to Build an Iron Farm in Minecraft
To start building the iron farm, you need to find a village in the plains biome and a good flat land with lots of space. Start digging a 7x6x2 hole in the ground, which will be large enough for the iron farm to work.
After digging the hole, dig a 3×3 hole in the middle and dig four blocks down inside. This hole will be where the villagers will stay for the iron farm to work.
After digging the hole for the villagers, break some blocks to make some space inside to place the bed. Place three beds and dig out of the hole, which will be an entrance to the villagers. Place two stone slabs and a trapdoor to block the zombies or mobs from harming the villagers.
Place a boat inside for a zombie to get stuck and place some torches so that more zombies don’t spawn inside the hole. Also, put some torches on the stairs to the entrance and place trapdoors to cover the entrance to the hole.
Next, you need to craft boats to bring villagers to the iron farm. Make at least three boats from the crafting table and place them near the villagers so that they can hop inside. Move the boat and bring them near to the farm.
When it is nighttime, break the boats so the villagers can go inside the hole to the bed to sleep. Cover the hole with dirt blocks so zombies or other mobs cannot attack them.

After covering the hole with dirt blocks, break four blocks at one side and place hoppers. After placing the hoppers, break the blocks on the other side to place a chest to store the iron. When iron ingots drop inside the hoppers, they will be automatically stored inside the chest.
Place stone blocks beside the farm, the same side you placed the hoppers before, and place eight signs like this. These signs will help put the lava in place and damage the iron golems.
Place lava on the empty stone blocks, killing the iron golems when they spawn inside the farm. Take two water buckets and place the water on the opposite corners of the farm, which will flow down to the hoppers.
Now, for your iron farm to work, you need a zombie to get inside the farm. When it is nighttime, make a zombie follow you to the entrance you made earlier while building the farm. When the zombie falls down the trapdoor, shut it so that the zombie can go and attack the villagers. The zombie will get stuck on the boat you placed earlier, spawning iron golems inside the farm.
Iron Golems will spawn to protect the villagers from the zombies, but they will get stuck in the water and move towards the lava. The lava will kill the iron golems, and they will drop iron ingots, which will then be stored in the chest.
Now, you have a working iron farm in Minecraft that will generate tons of iron for you. This iron farm can generate around 250-300 iron ingots every hour.
