There is a faster way to smelt items in Minecraft, that is with a Blast Furnace. A blast furnace can smelt ores like Gold and Iron like a regular furnace but faster. Making a blast furnace is a lengthy process, and you need a bit more materials than a regular furnace, which only requires eight cobblestones.

Here is how you can make a blast furnace in Minecraft.

How to Make a Blast Furnace in Minecraft

The main difference between a Blast Furnace and a regular Furnace is that the blast furnace will smelt ores twice as quickly as a regular furnace. The blast furnace can only smelt raw ores, iron, gold, chainmail armor, and tools. You need five iron ingots, three smooth stones, and a furnace to make a blast furnace.

First, mine some cobblestones with a pickaxe and wooden planks to make a crafting table. Next, make a regular furnace using eight cobblestones from the crafting table.

Then mine some Iron ores and smelt them to make some iron ingots. You will need exactly five iron ingots to make a blast furnace. Then, use the furnace to smelt some cobblestones to get stone.

Once you’re done, place those stones in the furnace again, which will smelt them again to get Smooth Stone. You need precisely three smooth stones to make a blast furnace.

Lastly, return to the crafting table and place the furnace in the center of the grid. Place two iron ingots on both sides of the furnace and the remaining three ingots in the top row. Finally, place the three smooth stones at the bottom row, and you have crafted the blast furnace.
