Halo Infinite will receive a major patch in the upcoming month to deal with cheaters that are currently causing havoc.

343 stuck gold with Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode as the physics-based first-person shooter combat loop took players to the glory days of Halo. To say that this multiplayer title was highly anticipated would be a colossal understatement.

Against massive expectations from the Halo player base, 343 pleased both critics and the core dedicated fans. The dev team brought Master Chief to the next generation of gaming with Halo Infinite.

Unfortunately, as this is a multiplayer game, cheaters became a major issue. Cheaters in a free-to-play first-person shooter game are inevitable now in 2022 as they always find a workaround to the anti-cheat systems that the developers deploy.

343 responds to the cheaters

Following many complaints regarding cheaters from the player base, 343’s Senior Community Manager, John Junyszek, responded to the players’ outcry. According to John Junyszek, they are currently working on a massive patch to deal with cheaters that will go live in the game in February.

Also, they are currently giving the ban hammer to the cheaters detected via internal means.

This patch should introduce much-needed security that the Halo community needs right now. The patch is supposed to provide a more robust protection and detection system.

Having said that, he also added that cheating in online free-to-play games is always going to be an issue as hackers will always try to push their way into the system, meaning the fight against the cheaters will always be an ongoing one.

Both sides will come up with intuitive ways to deal with one another. Players can directly report suspicious activity to the Halo support team on Twitter until then.
