A female player shared her painful VALORANT experience as she keeps getting abused in-game by her teammates in high ELO lobbies.
After the massive success of League of Legends, Riot Games entered the FPS genre with the release of VALORANT. Though most people were skeptical about its success, the game surprised everyone and became popular within a very short time.
Riot Games always try their best to create a safer environment for all sorts of players in their games. VALORANT is no exception. They encourage everyone, regardless of gender, race, and age, to play and enjoy VALORANT like everybody else.
Yet, some players, especially females, are sometimes more prone to toxicity in VALORANT than others. Although Riot Games has strict rules and regulations against these types of in-game behavior, female gamers inevitably face them regularly in VALORANT.
High Elo is More Toxic Than Low Elo
VALORANT has dedicated social media fan groups where people from across the world share their thoughts and opinions regarding various aspects of the game. Similarly, u/friendsbdayTA recently shared her heartbreaking VALORANT experience in high Elo lobbies through VALORANT subreddit.
She shared her previous experience as a Gold player, where she rarely received any “sexist remarks” from other players, and she enjoyed playing in low ELO lobbies. However, as she climbed up to Ascendant, she was continuously abused in-game for being a girl, regardless of her performance.
Because of this, now she has to play VALORNT without communicating with others through voice chat, which is very disheartening. Many Redditors came forward in the comment section showing support and sympathizing with her for the unfortunate circumstances she faced in the game.
Many players even gave her suggestions on how to avoid these types of situations, including playing not as a solo to some voice changer applications. However, these can’t be permanent solutions to the problem, as everyone should be able to feel safe and enjoy the game equally regardless of gender, race, and age in VALORANT.
