After an underwhelming performance in ALGS Pro League Split 1 Pro League, G2 has parted ways with its Apex Legends competitive roster.

Apex Legends’ competitive scene has been seeing a lot of ups and down in recent days. Many huge organizations like Cloud9 and Team Liquid have pulled out of the Apex Legends competitive scene. And now, G2’s Apex Legends roster faced the same fate.

ALGS Year 3 is already running at full throttle. The Split 1 Pro League has also ended. All the players from different teams showed their dedication and passion for the game and performed their best. Even then, the run for many teams will come to an end.

G2 Released its Competitive Apex Team

G2 is one of the oldest teams that has been a part of Apex’s competitive scene for a long time. Although, the organization signed its first Apex roster on September 2, 2020, G2 mainly began to shine when Dezignful, Resultuh, and Gentrifyinq joined the org in mid-2021 and became a force to be reckoned with for the rest of the year 2021.

They also had a decent run at the beginning of 2022. However, as the year progressed, G2’s performance started to deteriorate. On August 10, 2022, one of G2’s most valuable players, Gentrifyinq stepped down from the active roster, and ChaoticMuch, arguably one of NA’s best controller players, joined alongside Resultuh and Dezignful on November 2, 2022.

The future of G2’s Apex roster seemed brighter than ever. However, it didn’t last very long. Only one month after Chaotic joined, G2 decided to pull out of its Apex Legends competitive roster after the team failed to qualify for the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs.

Only 10 teams from NA advanced to Split 1 Playoffs. Many big names in the Apex competitive scene, including FURIA, FaZe, Complexity, and CLG, also failed to qualify, given there are only limited slots. However, within a short time, this newly formed team put up a decent fight against the best teams in NA, which was commendable.

The reason why G2 released its Apex competitive roster is still unsure. However, the way organizations have been disbanding their teams recently is very concerning for Apex Legends’ future.
