Here is the best way to complete the “Regional Phenomena” main quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the much-awaited sequel to Nintendo’s 2017 hit, Breath of the Wild. After being nearly destroyed by Calamity Ganon in BotW, Hyrule now faces the threat of being usurped by Demon King Ganondorf.

Without the Master Sword, your only real shot at winning against Ganondorf is by seeking out all the Sages and borrowing their powers. This involves doing a series of main story quests that lead to Link visiting various allied cities in Hyrule, such as Rito Village, Gerudo TownGoron City, and Zora’s Domain, and clearing out the Scourges plaguing the Wind, Fire, Water, and Spirit Temples.

However, Tears of the Kingdom allows you to complete the main quests in any desired order. That’s why, when Purah asks you to visit these locations, you can choose the course of your journey to your liking.

That said, some dungeons are easier than others. So, it is always recommended to clear them out first. Moreover, you will also struggle if you don’t unlock the suitable Sage companions and abilities before going into battle against certain bosses.

That’s why we have listed the best order for completing the Regional Phenomena main quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to ensure your Hero adventure sails smoothly.

Regional Phenomena Best Order in Zelda: TotK

Although there are no right or wrong choices, we recommend following this order for completing the Regional Phenomena main quest in Tears of the Kingdom.

1. Rito Village

  • Location: Wind Temple
  • Coordinates: -3650, 1895, 0168

Purah herself will suggest visiting Rito Village first, where you will meet the Wind Sage, Tulin. The Wind Sage’s ability is truly one of the best elemental abilities to unlock in the early game, as it will significantly improve your exploration and combat experience.

The Wind Sage’s ability allows you to blast enemies away with a gust of wind, making it a great skill to have when fighting large groups of monsters at a time.

Moreover, you can activate this ability while in the air to propel yourself forward at an incredible speed. This makes gliding across Hyrule much faster and more convenient.

Lastly, the Wind Temple is one of the most straightforward dungeons to beat in Tears of the Kingdom, making Rito Village a great first choice when completing the Regional Phenomena main quest.

2. Goron City

  • Location: Fire Temple
  • Coordinates: 1761, 2508, 0437

Although completing Goron City’s main quest is a long and tedious journey, we still recommend doing it second. That’s because the Fire Sage Yunobo makes it worth all the hassle.

Goron City has two main boss fights, unlike the other locations on this list. At first, you will have to head to the Depths and fight Yunobo himself. Once he regains his senses, you two can defeat Moragia together.

Yunobo is a loyal companion who can make himself useful in more ways than one. He can roll into a ball and launch himself toward enemies like a fiery cannonball. The best part about his ability is that he can launch his attacks from any vehicle.

Not only can he set fire to anything, but he can also clear out large boulders and obstacles blocking your way ahead. So, we recommend partnering up with him as soon as possible.

3. Zora’s Domain

  • Location: Water Temple
  • Coordinates: 3299, 0424, 0112

Even if the Water Sage Sidon’s abilities surpass Yunobo’s, we still recommend doing the Zora’s Domain quest after Goron City. That’s because the dungeon requires solving intricate puzzles and access to certain Fused items, which you may not have until much later in the game.

Moreover, the battle against Sludge Like and Mucktorok is more challenging than taking down Yunobo and Moragia. Having said that, you may still make the extra effort to beat the Water Temple dungeon before Fire Temple, as Sidon’s Power of Water is truly the best combination of offensive and defensive elemental skills in the game.

Sidon’s power protects you from all incoming attacks by encasing you in a water bubble shield until you attack. Moreover, you can also imbue your attacks with water, washing away sludge from enemies and paths with ease.

4. Gerudo Town

  • Location: Lightning Temple
  • Coordinates: -3881, -2961, 0123

We recommend going to Gerudo Town last because the Lightning Temple is by far the most challenging dungeon to complete. From the harsh sandstorms to constantly shifting temperatures and swarms of annoying Gibdos, nothing about visiting Gerudo Town makes it a pleasant experience.

Moreover, the boss fight against Gibdo Queen is also very challenging, so we don’t recommend visiting Gerudo Town unless you are well-equipped and leveled up. Having said that, you will eventually have to complete the dungeon to unlock the Vow of the Lightning Sage, Riju.

Riju’s abilities are extremely handy, as she can strike down lightning bolts right next to where your arrows land. These Lightning Strikes can inflict a shock status upon multiple enemies within a wide area of effect, making it great for crowd control.
