Player Cards are a cosmetic item in VALORANT, and they can affect your display background in different ways. The player portraits are displayed in three different ways: as a portrait image in the lobby, as a horizontal banner on the loading screen and on the kill cam, and as an avatar shown in the leaderboards. Most player cards have an image ranging from simple agent drawings to memes to full-blown animated ones.

How to obtain Player Cards in VALORANT?
The main source of obtaining Player Cards is through the battle pass system, where the devs add an assortment of unique player cards with every act. You can also get a few of these as a part of end-of-tier bonuses for free without needing to purchase the battle pass or get several of them when you purchase the premium battle pass. The next way is by purchasing weapon bundles. You get extra goodies such as a Spray, a player card, and a gun buddy when you buy the full collection.
The third way is also fully free: obtaining Player cards from Agent contracts. You can unlock cool player cards related to their respective agents. This does require a bit of grinding, but these player cards can be obtained entirely for free by anyone. You can get two from each agent contract, one at tier 2 and one at tier 9. Lastly, you can get player cards from promotional or limited-time events. These can range from Amazon Prime gaming bonuses, rewards for watching streams, mini-events, etc. So to summarize, here is how you can obtain Player cards in VALORANT.
- Battle pass rewards (Both free and premium)
- Weapon Bundle bonus rewards
- Agent Contracts
- Limited time/Promotional offers
All the Player Cards in VALORANT
So far, there have been 369 different Player Cards released in VALORANT as of Patch 6.05. These incorporate everything from Agent artwork, memes, themes, Riot events, and much more. So let’s take a quick glance at all of them and then proceed to our top 10 at the end.
Agent Contract Player Cards
Reaching tier 2 and tier 9 of every agent’s contract unlocks a Player card each. The first one is pretty basic, with only the agent itself, and the second one is a better one related to their origin or story. These player cards are tied directly to the agent you unlock them for. This is also the only reliable way to get player cards for free, as they are permanently available to unlock at any time. Here are all the Player cards you can obtain for free via the Agent Contracts:
Battle Pass Player Cards
As previously mentioned, this is where you can get the most Player cards. Battle passes are the best source to get a wide variety of unique player cards. Here are all the Player cards you can get from each battle pass:
Other Battle Passes
On special occasions, Riot incorporates mini-events in VALORANT, where you can play the game to unlock a variety of rewards. These battle passes are completely free and available only for a limited time. Here are the Player cards you can obtain in this way:
Weapon Collection Bundle Player Cards
Now we get to the more premium lineup of Player cards. These are a part of the weapon collections and can either be purchased separately for 375VP or obtained with the purchase of the bundle. When you buy the full bundle, you get the Player card (as well as other goodies) completely for free. The Player card in the Give Back collection was the most expensive so far, coming in at 775VP.
Every weapon collection comes with at least one Player Card with Champions 2021, Doodle Buds, Team Ace, Tethered Realms, and the VALORANT Go! series coming with multiple Player cards. Since these are premium player cards, not only do they look good, some even have animations and cool effects surrounding them. Here are all the Player cards you can obtain as a part of skin bundles in VALORANT:
Code Redemption Player Cards
For a limited time, you could enter a code from VALORANT’s code redemption site and get a player card for free. It was to celebrate the release of a new animated short, DUALITY. During the VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavik Grand Finals, it was released. All existing accounts were also given this card on June 7, 2021

Some of the best-looking character-based player cards that every main must have. We liked the Vol.1 art style more than Vol.2 as it was closer to the original VALORANT art style, while the second volume leaned too much towards an anime style, which some people might prefer.
