We finally have some information regarding what Respawn has in store in terms of weapon and hop-up changes for the upcoming season 10 of Apex Legends.
The most significant change that Respawn announced was the removal of Spitfire from the ground loot, as in the upcoming season, Spitfire will only be available as a care package weapon with pre-nerfed stats.
Joining Spitfire in the Care package will be the Alternator SMG with the Disruptor rounds hop-up preinstalled. Meaning Prowler SMG is returning as a ground loot. However, players won’t be able to use Prowler as a full-auto weapon since there is no select-fire hop-up anymore. Instead, Prowler will be just a burst-fire weapon.
These changes will also be implemented in the Arenas game mode. As a result, players won’t be able to purchase the Alternator from the starting shop in Arenas, and it will only be available in the care package.
Furthermore, Respawn will be introducing a new hop-up to the mix called “Boosted Loader” that will replace both quickdraw and anvil receiver hop-ups in the game. The Boosted Loader will give weapons like Wingman and Hemlok faster reload speed and additional ammo with the right timing, similar to the Deadeye’s Tempo hop-up. Lastly, the L-Star will receive a slight rework.

- Spitfire will be buffed to its past state and enter the care package.
- Alternator with disruptor rounds will join the Spitfire in the care package.
- Reduced the headshot multiplier for all LMGs from 2.0 to 1.75
- Increased the limbshot multiplier for all LMGs from 0.75 to 0.85
Since end fights in the current meta revolve around level 4 red Evo shield with massive hit points, it makes a lot of sense for Respawn to put both Spitfire and Alternator with disruptor rounds to level the battlefield in the last zone.
The fan-favorite disruptor rounds are finally making a return. It was first introduced back in season 2 and with this hop-up installed armors will melt like butter.
Fully Kitted Rotation
- Added: Peacekeeper, Rampage, RE-45, Flatline, and Charge Rifle
- Removed: Wingman, Bocek, R99, Hemlock, and Sentinel
Stock Attachments
- All stocks now offer increased reload speed (instead of magazines)
- Marksman Weapons (30-30 Repeater, G7 Scout, Triple-Take) now take Sniper Stocks instead of Tactical Stocks
- Sniper Stocks on Marksman weapons will offer increased stability and sway reduction with slightly reduced handling bonuses (from tactical stocks)
Hop-up Changes
- Quickdraw and Anvil receiver removed from the hop-up pool.
- A new hop “Boosted Loader” will join its place. Reloading near empty (but not at 0) increases reload speed and overloads the next magazine with extra rounds. This hop up will be equipable to the Hemlok Burst AR and the Wingman.
- The perk of the quickdraw hop-up will be installed in all pistols to a lesser degree.
The introduction of the new Boosted Loader hop up will defnitely be really intersting as this is has the potential to create crazy highlight reel for players.
