Apex Legends players have been asking Respawn to bring back fan-favorite limited-time solos game mode.
Respawn Entertainment, the developers of the Titanfall franchise entered the competitive battle royale market with Apex Legends based on the Titanfall series of games. Following the official launch of Apex Legends back in 2019, the general Titanfall fanbase was cautious at first regarding the lack of Titans in a game based on the Titanfall universe.
All of the worries were set aside when players got their hands on this engaging multiplier. It turns out, Titanfall’s movement mechanics and solid first-person shooter fundamentals are a great fit for a battle royale setting.

On top of that, the game was free-to-play, meaning there was no barrier to entry. As a result, Apex Legends quickly garnered a massive player base. Respawn later released a steady stream of content updates featuring new maps, weapons, skins, limited-time games modes, and more to keep the player base engaged.
Among these limited-time game modes, the solos mode where players would fight as a solo against fifty-nine other players was an instant hit within the Apex Legends community. Many in the player base felt right at home with this game mode where you are literally on your own.
Solos isn’t healthy for the game
However, Respawn made this game with a heavy focus on team play. As such, Respawn didn’t make this game mode permanent alongside duos. According to Josh Medina, a Producer at Respawn, the solos mode isn’t really good for the game’s health.
Unless they can figure out a way to bring this game mode back without sacrificing the overall health of the title, they are less likely to bring it back. Despite the explanation from the dev team, tons of players within the community constantly ask Respawn to get this game mode back in one form or another.
