Apex Legends’ annual Black Friday sale for 2021 is already here, and it came with some unintended caveats.

Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind the popular battle royale FPS game Apex Legends, usually offers great deals on cosmetic items such as skin bundles, Apex packs, and more during the Black Friday sale to incentivize players to purchase exclusive bundles.

This year’s bundle also includes some returning deals from last year. For example, the fan-favorite Octane bundle made a return. On top of that, there are some really lucrative deals in the Apex packs as well.

Did Respawn Artificially Inflate the Base Price of the Skin Bundle?

These bundles stay in the Apex Legends’ digital store for a week. But some keen-eyed players discovered something odd with one of the bundles that Respawn is currently providing a massive discount on.

The Laughing Fool bundle featuring a jester-themed Octane skin with a matching Flatline is heavily discounted in the Apex Store as a part of the Black Friday sale. And this exact same bundle was also available in last year’s Black Friday sale 2020.

However, this year, it seems like Respawn artificially inflated the base bundle price from 3600 Apex coins to around 4200 Apex coins in order to stick a bigger discount number on the bundle. Even though the final price seems to have gone down from 2500 Apex coins to 2150 Apex coins, the Apex Legends community is upset that Respawn artificially inflated the base price.

It suffices to say that Respawn is getting some backlash from the Apex community regarding this matter. Respawn Entertainment hasn’t made any official response regarding the issue as of writing.
