The wait is finally over for the lucky individuals who got their hands on the next generation of gaming consoles like the PS5 & the Xbox Series X since Respawn has finally revealed what kind of next-gen updates they have in store for the player base.
Apex Legends is Respawn Entertainment’s first foray into the highly competitive battle royale market. Despite solid competition from massive competitors like PUBG and Fortnite, Apex Legends made a name for itself in this highly competitive market.
Over the year, Respawn has managed to release this battle royale across all the different platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. On top of that, a mobile port was also available for players to get their feet wet in the wonderful world created by Respawn. However, it was later shut down.
Following the release of next-gen consoles like the PS5 & Xbox Series X, Respawn didn’t give their game a next-gen makeover. Instead, the game ran on the base port with more stability since the newer consoles were really powerful in terms of pure horsepower.
4k & HDR support
But the wait for the next-gen update is finally over. Respawn has officially announced what sort of updates they have in mind for the future of Apex Legends. It includes features like 4K support, HDR, solid 60Hz gameplay, higher resolution shadow maps, and greater LOD distances.
In short, these updates will make use of the real hardware capabilities of the new consoles. And for those with high refresh rate monitors, additional updates in the future will unlock 120Hz capabilities for the next-gen consoles.
And for the PS5 owners, more tailor-made tweaks will make full use of the excellent haptic and adaptive triggers for the PS5 controllers. Aside from these, more updates targeting better visuals and audio performance are also coming in the near future.
When is the Next Gen Update coming?
The next-gen update for PS5 & Xbox Series X will be available with the Warrior collection event on March 29, 2022.
