The much-anticipated launch of Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch platform is almost here.
Switch owners are understandably very excited since Apex Legends is currently one of the most popular battle royale games on the market. In a recent interview with famitsu, the development studio behind the switch port, Panic Button, revealed details regarding frame rates and resolution targets for the portable console.
According to the technical director of Panic Button, Andy Boggs, Apex Legends will run at 30 frames per second. Even though every other platform supports 60 FPS for this battle royale, due to restrictions on the overall power of the portable console, the developers decided to lock it to 30 FPS for a more consistent experience for players.

Target Resolution for Nintendo Switch
As with every other Switch release, there will be two different resolution targets for docked and undocked modes. For docked mode, Switch will target 720p resolution. Whereas in the portable mode, the game will play at 576p.
However, in both modes, the FPS will be locked at 30 FPS. Panic Button has been doing an amusing job by porting some of the most demanding games to the portable console. Since Switch doesn’t have enough power to target a solid 60 FPS experience for players, the developers decided to lock it at 30 FPS.

Apparently, the Switch version will feature all the items and legends that are currently available with the PC and console versions. However, players will be at a significant disadvantage while playing against players from other platforms due to cross-play.
