Respawn Entertainment’s first foray into the battle royale market received critical and commercial success, as following Apex Legends’ initial release back in 2019, this spin-off game became a massive hit in the battle royale space.
To keep the competitive player base engaged, Respawn released a dedicated ranked mode in the game alongside the season 2 update. Also, they took matters into their own hands to kick-start the professional Apex Legends tournaments.
Over the years, Apex Legends’ pro scene has also managed to garner a dedicated fanbase of its own. Anyone who watches these tournaments will notice that the NA and EU regions are home to some of the best professional Apex Legends rosters in the world.
Unsurprisingly, most of these top pro rosters are from tier-1 Esports organizations like TSM FTX, G2, C9, and more. From the very first LAN tournament in Apex, it was clear that NA and EU had a deep rivalry between them.
Fans from both sides of the aisle believe that their region is currently the best in the world. On that note, one Apex Legends developer gave his two cents on which region is currently most dominant to him.
EU on top
In the official Apex Legends subreddit, one Reddit user with the username ‘u/Father_Law_FH’ claimed that the EU region is currently the most dominant region in the game right now as they are ahead of the meta most of the time. On top of that, this fan thinks that pro players in the EU region really grind the game hard and figure out the meta faster than their contemporaries.
Also, unlike other regions, EU teams are equally balanced in terms of skills. As such, this user believes that, in the current state of the game, the EU is the strongest region. In response to this claim, one Apex Legends developer simply replied, “pretty much”. Even developers at Respawn Entertainment think the EU region is currently ahead of the curve in the pro scene.
