Apex Legends players accidentally stumbled upon a hidden Wattson buff that makes her tactical ability really overpowered.

Respawn Entertainment, the developers of the popular battle royale game Apex Legends, first released Wattson as a playable character back in season 2. Following her debut in the Apex games, she quickly cemented herself as a must-pick character for the competitive ranked mode.

Even though her pick rate in the competitive ranked mode was almost close to 100%, her casual public matchmaking stats told another story. Unsurprisingly, her defensive playstyle was only compatible with ranked and tournaments.

All these changed when Respawn seriously shook up the meta starting back in season 5. Recon characters received a massive buff. And with the introduction of more fast-paced legends, Wattson was out of the competitive meta. Diehard Wattson mains then started to beg Respawn for a buff or a rework to make her more viable in the current state of the game.

Wattson Can Actually Make Long Fences

Recently, some players were playing around with the reworked World’s Edge map and discovered that if you place Wattson’s tactical in the perfect alignment with the cable car, you can actually extend the range of her tactical perimeter security.

And turns out, there is no end to how long you can extend her Tactical. This means you can actually make really long fences using Tactical to cover a large area.

John Larson, the Associate Live Balance Designer at Respawn, even reacted to this clip and made a snarky remark about how Wattson players always ask for more buffs while she already has this hidden power.

In the current state of the game, Wattson is really not that viable compared to her contemporaries. As such, she is in dire need of some sort of rework or buff similar to what they did with Rampart with the recent Evolution collection event update.

As season 11 of Apex Legends is almost upon us, we can all still cross our fingers and hope that Wattson might receive some love from Respawn in the upcoming season.
