Apex Legends is slowly steering away from its tradition and the things that once made the game popular.

Among the countless LTMs, a few stand out in the community’s eyes. Winter Express is one such game mode. Starting in Season 3, the game mode was reintroduced during every holiday season and has become a tradition at this point.
However, for unknown reasons, Respawn has decided not to provide the community with Winter Express during this holiday season, leaving players understandably disappointed.

Why is Winter Express Missing This Year?
Winter Express is one of Apex Legends’ most popular limited-time game modes. With this game mode, veteran players can relive the nostalgia of the original Apex, while new players can try something new. So, why did the developers abandon this game mode this year?
Thordan Smash’s recent post may hold the answer. In the post, he shared a small interaction between Drww V3 and Josh Medina, Apex Legends’ senior producer, in which Josh Medina discussed the technical issue of having an unbalanced team composition in the Winter Express game mode.
While having too many Legends is a problem, it can also be solved by removing specific Legends or changing their balance. Three Strikes experienced similar problems due to Lifeline and Newcastle being on the same team. However, the community still wanted to play and enjoy the game mode.
