Console commands are an easier way to access and set up commands to customize your CS2 experience. This article is about some of the more useful commands in the game.

Counter-Strike was always hard to get into as a game. This was because many important or useful mechanics were locked away behind the game console. Any new player will have a hard time accessing these commands if they don’t even know what they are searching for. Mechanics like jump-binds and buy-binds have to be done using the console.

In Counter-Strike 2, the situation has changed quite a bit. Valve has taken the initiative to make the game user-friendly. As such, many commands are either obsolete or locked away, unable to be accessed by a player. Still, there are a lot of useful commands you can use in-game.

Accessing the console:

Before you can access the commands, you have to first know how to access the console. The console is easily accessible using the “~” key on your keyboard. However, you have to first enable the console from the game settings.

  1. Access the Settings menu from the main menu.
  2. Navigate to the “Game” tab
  3. Select Enable Developer Console and Select Yes

Commands for Practicing Online

Valve has already implemented a way to practice any map without going through this many commands. This came about in their campaign to make the game more accessible. However, you still have to return to the main menu every time you have to practice a different map. Using console commands is just more convenient if you know what you are doing. These are the must-know commands for you.
