The new Space Groove 2022 skins are here and are set to be released in patch 12.22.
With season 12 of League of Legends ending and preseason 2023 right around the corner, there had been some leaks circulating around about the return of the Space Groove skin line. As it turns out, the leaks were accurate, and we are getting a brand new Space Groove event.
The Space Groove is a series of alternate-universe skins where champions use the power of “The Groove” to fight back against Lissandra’s forces. It is a very light-hearted skin line and is often considered League of Legends’ most interesting skin line.
Released back in 2021, the skin line was praised for its unique and innovative concept. And ever since its initial release, players have asked Riot to bring the Space Groove skin line back. So Riot is giving the players what they want and bringing back the Space Groove skins along with a new event.
This year’s Space Groove skins will include 9 new skins; these are Space Groove Gragas, Space Groove Lissandra, Space Groove Nami, Prestige Space Groove Nami, Space Groove Ornn, Space Groove Taric, Space Groove Teemo, Space Groove Twisted Fate.
The skins are currently on the PBE (Public Beta Environment) servers for testing. And before the skins get shipped to the live servers, let us take a closer look at them.

Space Groove Gragas

Out of all the Space Groove skins, Space Groove Gragas probably matches the theme the most. The skin makes Gragas look like one of those 80′ dancers with a dash of futuristic elements.
The skin also has fantastic new models, textures, animations, sound effects, and recall animations.
Overall a great skin and probably is one of Gragas’s best skins.
Space Groove Lissandra

Space Groove Lissandra is probably one of her most unique skins, a departure from her usual darker-themed skins. However, she is still the villain in this universe. Despite being the villain, Space Groove Lissandra has some sick moves.
Space Groove Lissandra is a fairly light-hearted and goofy skin with some fantastic effects that match its theme.
Space Groove Nami

Space Groove Nami is probably one of the better Nami skins, although the skin sometimes feels like a Space Pool Party skin, especially regarding the ability effects. Other than that, it is a very solid skin.

Prestige Space Groove Nami is the Prestige version of the original Space Groove Nami skin.
It’s a beautiful skin that feels like a mix between the Event Horizon/Cosmic and Space Groove skin lines. The skin features a brand new model, new sound effects, new visual effects, and, most importantly, she is sitting in a giant martini glass in her splash art.
Space Groove Ornn

The Space Groove Ornn skin is one of those skins you either love or hate.
First of all, if you are looking for an Ornn skin that matches his “Forge God” theme, this isn’t the skin for you. But if you are ok with the goofy space groove vibe, you will probably love the skin.

Space Groove Taric

It has been a while since Taric received a skin; the last Taric skin was Taric Luminshield, released back in 2020. So the Taric enthusiasts are quite excited about the skin.

Space Groove Teemo is hands down the best Teemo skin released to date. It is a legendary skin that takes some risks and fundamentally changes how Teemo looks but still captures Teemo’s goofy side.

Space Groove Twisted Fate is the newest of Twisted Fate’s skins. This is an epic skin with new animations, sound effects, particle effects, and recall animations. A decent skin at best, as Twisted Fate has better skins.
