Riot has revealed that the long-awaited Ahri ASU has been delayed because of the cyber attack.

Earlier last year, players were excited as Riot announced that League of Legends would have the “biggest” budget in 2023. Though players had high hopes for season 13, they quickly became disappointed as Riot barely revealed anything exciting in the season 2023 roadmap video. Moreover, Riot also released the League of Legends season 2023 cinematic, which was universally hated to the point where Riot had to apologize for it. Additionally, Riot Games also laid off 46 of its employees. And to add salt to the injury, Riot Games recently suffered a massive cyber attack due to social engineering.

Because of this cyber attack, Riot Games has faced much damage. Because of said damages, most of their planned patches (like 13.2 and 13.3) have been pushed back. Alongside the upcoming CGU or Comprehensive Gameplay Update for Aurelion Sol and Ahri’s ASU has also been delayed.

This isn’t the first time Ahri’s ASU has been delayed. Initially, her ASU was supposed to be released in the middle of season 12. But unfortunately, as Riot were understaffed and Ahri had a higher quantity of skins, the release date had to be pushed back to season 13.

And in the season 2023 video, Riot showcased Ahri in her new visuals properly. They also revealed that she would be released in patch 13.2. While players were excited to see and try out the new Ahri, the cyber attack happened after some days, and her ASU got pushed back.
