Apex Legends is a battle royale FPS game set in the same universe as the Titanfall franchise of video games. As such, Respawn Entertainment, the developers of Titanfall, borrowed a lot of features from the popular FPS game and then injected them directly into Apex with subtle balance changes.
Over the years, Respawn has released a lot of weapons, abilities, and characters from the mainline games. However, the number of optical attachments for weapons has remained the same since its release.

New Weapon Attachments are Coming
The rumor of a new cryo grenade started to become mainstream following a leak from a prominent Apex Legends data miner. And now, data miners are suggesting a new type of optical attachment might be making its way into the live game soon.
Weapon attachments in Apex Legends usually come in different tiers. They are all color-coordinated to their rarity in the game. Right now, there are four tiers of weapon attachments in the game, such as white (level 1), blue (level 2), purple (level 3), and gold (level 4).
This leaked optic attachment is rumored to be of red tier. In the current state of the game, care package-only weapons have a red rarity. This means the upcoming red optical attachment for weapons could have additional perks that make them eligible to have that red rarity marker.
How will it Work?
As of writing, the data miners have no idea regarding how this red-tier optic will work in the live game. Even though there is no real evidence out there that would explain what this sight will do when attached to a weapon, some believe this “heirloom” optic could provide players with a wall scan or soft aimbot similar to the smart pistol from the classic Titanfall games.
