With Worlds on the horizon, Riot Games have announced the patch for Worlds 2022.

The summer split for League of Legends has ended, and the countdown for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship has also started. With play-ins beginning on September 29 in Mexico City, less than a month remains. Currently, fans are excited to see their favorite teams from around the world duke it out in Worlds 2022.

The teams from the major regions coming to this year’s Worlds are already decided. From LCK, we have Gen.G, T1, Damwon Kia and DRX. In the LPL, JD Gaming, Top Esports, Edward Gaming, and RNG have qualified for Worlds.

The western regions are still in their playoff runs. In Europe’s LEC G2 Esports, Rogue, and Fnatic are fighting for first place, with Mad Lions being the fourth seed. In North America, C9, 100 Thieves, and Evil Geniuses are also duking it out for the first place.

Worlds 2022 Patch

The summer 2022 playoffs were played in patches 12.14 and 12.15; the Worlds patch will be patch 12.18.

Both patches 12.17 and 12.18 will significantly impact the professional scene meta. Patch 12.17 included the more significant changes, and patch 12.18 will have minor changes, further improving the game state.

Patch 12.17 was released recently; it came with various changes. The patch included some nerfs to the recent meta picks like Ahri, Nami, Sylas, Renekton, Sivir, etc., and some needed buffs to underutilized champions such as Camille, Sett, Ezreal, Rell, etc. Patch 12.17 also included the much anticipated Miss Fortune, Hecarim, and Maokai mini-rework.

Patch 12.18 just hit the PBE (Public Beta Environment) servers recently. The patch has no balance changes, but we expect some balance changes next week. Although changes are expected to be minor, we must wait for more information.

According to Riot, Patch 12.18 will hit the live servers on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
