Riot is pushing another major patch, patch 12.14, to balance out the meta — focusing on the pro games.

League of Legends Season 12 Preseason might be a small one, but the mid-season Durability update pretty much shifted the whole meta. While previously, games were all about quick teamfights and kills, now teamfights are more strategy-focused and tend to last longer.

Because of how impactful and significant the Durability update was, Riot, however, had to push multiple hotfixes to balance the “overpowered” & “underwhelming” champions. Not to mention the release of two champions in two patches apart: Bel’Veth & Nilah, which caused even more balancing nightmares.

Even though the previous patch, patch 12.13, was relatively small, Riot still had to force two hotfixes nerfing the “broken” Master Yi & further adjusting Gwen, Sivir, and Nilah.

Now, as patch 12.13 changes settle down with the Star Guardian 2022 event, it’s also time for Riot to reveal their plans for the upcoming patch 12.14.

And apparently, another big-scale update focusing on the pro games is underway in patch 12.14, according to League of Legends Lead Designer Riot Phroxzon.

“Healing outlier nerfs, pro bloodiness changes, GP nerf to top end barrels, and our regular balance changes (with focus on Pro meta) are coming to 12.14,” Riot Phroxzon said. Though Teleport changes were planned for patch 12.14, Riot is pulling the Teleport changes from the PBE and focusing on “stability” for the rest of the season.

On patch 12.14, Jarvan IV, Teemo, Alistar, LeBlanc, and Varus are getting buffs while Pantheon will get the ability to jungle — finally, Pantheon mains can rejoice. Moreover, Sivir is getting another nerf along with Yuumi, Seraphine Bot, Gnar, Zeri, and Renata.

Additionally, Riot is also nerfing Gangplank, making him weak in the early game and shifting some of his crit incentives out of barrels.

Here’s everything you need to know about another big patch of the year, patch 12.14.
