Modern Warfare is right around the corner. Here’s an overview of what to expect from the newest Call of Duty title of 2023.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the current ongoing title. The game came out in 2022 as a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare. The game shares most of its core mechanics with its predecessor.

Previously, Activision was positive that they would move back to a 2-year CoD cycle with the release of MW2. However, following a few issues, Activision announced that they would not stick with the 2-year cycle and will release MW3 in 2023, which will be developed by Sledgehammer Games.

Unlike MW2, Modern Warfare 3 received a very late reveal. Following Warzone 2.0 Season 5‘s release, Call of Duty announced that the 2023 premium release would be Modern Warfare 3 in an in-game reveal.

Modern Warfare 3 will be the direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2 and will be integrated into Warzone 2.0. All weapons and operators from MW2 will reportedly transition to the new game. Additionally, new weapons and operators will also be added to the sequel with the release.

Modern Warfare 3 Developer

Sledgehammer Games will be the lead developer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 in collaboration with Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Beenox, and other Activision-led studios.

Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer Features

Here are the Multiplayer features confirmed for Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer, coming Day One:

  • Map Voting returns, allowing players greater autonomy over their Multiplayer matches.
  • Classic Minimap Behavior, with red dots indicating when an enemy is firing an unsuppressed weapon.
  • All chosen Perks are available at the start of each match.
  • The Covert Sneakers Perk allows for silent movement (assuming you’ve chosen the correct footwear).
  • Core Multiplayer Health is increased to 150, lengthening the Time-to-Kill (TTK). Hardcore mode is not affected.

Ninja Perk is making a Glorious Return

Ninja perk has been one of the most requested perks in the community. However, Infinity Ward was not keen on adding the perk to MW2, leaving many players unhappy. Surprisingly, Sledgehammer Games are reportedly adding a Ninja perk to Modern Warfare 3. Adding this perk will surely be a huge plus point during the game’s life cycle.
