Like other HoYoverse games, players can summon or “Warp” for characters and light cones in Honkai: Star Rail. Here is a small guide explaining what Warp is in Star Rail.
Honkai: Star Rail was developed by miHoYo, the developer behind the popular titles Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd. Honkai: Star Rail was released worldwide on April 26 for PC and Mobile devices and quickly became one of the fastest-growing games of the year. The game features the conventional gameplay of classic Japanese RPGs in turn-based combat.
Like Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd, Honkai: Star Rail also offers players a Gacha system called “Warp” in-game. This gacha system allows players to obtain new characters and light cones in Star Rail from Warp banners by working through its pity system and summoning mechanics.

Here is a small guide explaining how the Warp and pity system works in Honkai: Star Rail.
Warp Banners
There are three types of Warps in Honkai: Star Rail; Departure, Event, and Regular Warps. The Event Warp features a Character Event Warp and Light Cone Event Warp simultaneously. The Regular Warp is a permanent banner that offers all the standard characters and light cones in the game. There is also a Departure Warp banner, which is only available for a limited number of summons.
Regular Warp
The Regular Warp is Honkai Star Rail’s permanent banner and features all the game’s general light cones and almost all four and five-star characters. You need one Star Rail Pass or 160 Stellar Jades, the premium currency in Honkai: Star Rail, to summon or pull on the banner, and in every 10 pulls, you will get a guaranteed four-star character or light cone as a reward. The rest of the pulls will give you three-star light cones, or you will get multiple four-star rewards in a single 10-pull.

Players are guaranteed a five-star reward within 90 Warps, which could be either a character or a light cone from the banner. If you get lucky, you can receive a five-star character or light cone before 90 Warps. However, there’s an additional reward for players who will spend 300 Warps on the Regular Warp banner. After spending 300 Warps on the banners, players will receive the option to select one five-star character of their choice from the Regular banner.

It is recommended that players do not use Stellar Jades, the premium currency of Honkai: Star Rail, on the Regular banner because you will get Star Rail Passes from doing quests, Simulated Universe, and events.
Event Warps
Event Warps are the limited-time event banners in Honkai: Star Rail, which feature exclusive characters and light cones. The character banner will feature a five-star character and three more four-star characters of the game.
The Event Warp banners usually run for 20 days, and there are two different characters. Light cone banners, on the other hand, are featured in two phases.
In the most recent updates of Honkai: Star Rail, two different characters and their light cones are running on separate banners simultaneously.

The Light Cone Event banner will feature the five-star light cone of the limited-time exclusive character alongside some other four-star light cones.

Both character and light cone banners have a boosted drop rate to the five-star and four-star rewards. However, there is a 50% chance that you will receive the featured five-star character or light cone from the banners.
If you don’t get the featured five-star character or light cone from the banners, you will receive one of the characters or light cones from the Regular Warp banner.
If you receive one of the five-star characters or light cones from the Regular Warp banner, your next five-star reward is guaranteed to be the featured character or light cone. So, if you plan to pull for a limited-time exclusive character or light cone, you should save Stellar Jades to have enough pulls.

Just like the Regular Warp banner, you are guaranteed to receive a five-star character or light cone within 90 Warps, and you need 160 Stellar Jades or one Special Star Rail Pass for a single Warp. If you are fortunate, you might get a five-star character early from the character event or light cone event banner.
Departure Banner
The Departure Warp in Honkai: Star Rail is just like the Novice banner in Genshin Impact but slightly better regarding rewards. You can do a maximum of 50 Warps before the banner is expired and gone forever. However, the Departure banner will give you a guaranteed five-star character from the Regular Warp banner.

The Departure Warp banner lets players pull on the banner at a 20% discount whenever you are doing 10 summons. It means that when you do 10 Warps on the banner, it will count as 8 Warps, but you will receive rewards for all 10 Warps. This is an excellent banner for new players because it will give you a decent amount of characters and light cones right when you start playing Honkai: Star Rail.
