Viper players finally have something worth celebrating as she finally crossed the 50% win rate mark for the very first time since VALORANT’s official launch back in 2020.
Riot Games’ first foray into the 5v5 style tactical shooter genre took everyone by surprise considering they had no prior experience in making a first-person shooter game. However, their unique approach to solving some of the core pain points that plagued the competitive shooter scene really garnered a lot of praise from the press.
And the ace up their sleeves was definitely the original cast of characters and Riot calls them “Agents”. Coming from the creators of League of Legends, players undoubtedly had high expectations from the team at Riot Games. For the most part, they delivered.
Viper, one of the original agents that were released alongside VALORANT’s official launch was mostly ignored by the masses mainly due to her abilities not being as prevalent in the meta. Following many complaints from the community and diehard Viper mains, Riot finally made massive changes to her overall kit.
Riot made several balancing changes targeted towards Viper. For example, almost all of her kits were changed multiple times. And seems like the changes made in the VALORANT patch 2.06 really turned things around for Viper.

Many pro teams all around the world have started to experiment with her kits. Turns out, her current kits are really good in all most all skill levels in the game. Therefore, for the first time since VALORANT’s launch, she crossed the 50% win rate.
