Vantage is the newest legend in Apex Legends. With her high pick rate, players are wondering whether she is a balanced character in the game right now.
Since the beginning of Apex Legends, Respawn has introduced a considerable number of characters in the game. Until Season 14, we have seen 22 Legends being released into Apex Legends, all with their own abilities and unique features.
Among all the Legends, Vantage is the latest addition to the game. She is a recon legend, released in Season 14. Her abilities make her perfect for medium to long-range fights. Additionally, her tactical ability lets her travel distances within a certain range, whether it’s a hilly terrain or a smooth surface, making her a viable character for short-range fights.

Did Vantage Change the Meta?
Vantage currently has the highest pick rate among all the characters in the game. Recent legend pick rate statistics show that Vantage has a whopping 13.5% pick rate in the current Apex Legends meta.
Vantage’s abilities make her one of the most versatile legends in the game. Her passive ability gives her and her teammates vital information about the enemies. Her tactical ability helps her relocate to advantageous positions.
Additionally, Echo Relocation can be used to push and chase enemies as well as escape from them when needed. With her Ultimate, you can always have a weapon to fight for long-range engagements while having your primary and secondary guns with you.
However, is she really that powerful? Some pro players have argued that she is actually not a viable character in late games. Moreover, as we have seen previously, the pick rate for new legends tends to stay high for the first few weeks of a new Season launch. And, after a while, the pick rate for newly released legends starts to decrease.
So, Vantage being at the top of the food chain might just be a case of her being new in the game. However, it is still too early to say whether she will hold her pick rate or die out, just like other new legends at the end of Season 14.
