Riot Games has officially revealed Sunset, VALORANT’s 10th official map, located in Los Angeles, California.

Although VALORANT began with three unique maps in the beta version, Riot Games continued to introduce new ones in each new chapter, except for Episode 4, which saw no new maps released.

The game currently has 9 playable maps, with Lotus being the most recent addition in the 6.00 update. And now, Riot Games has revealed the tenth official map for VALORANT. According to previous and new information, the name of the map is Sunset, and it is located in Gekko’s hometown.

Thanks to ValorLeaks and Riot Games, we got our first look at the Sunset map. At first glance, the color palette may appear to be similar to Ascent. However, upon close inspection, you can see lots of differences in map design and layout.

Sunset is set to be located in Los Angeles, California. With this, VALORANT will have its second map based in the USA. Unfortunately, there’s no concrete information on whether the new map is located on Alpha or Omega Earth. However, based on the patterns of the previous two maps, it is safe to assume that Sunset is also from Omega Earth.

Sunset Map Layout

Now let’s talk about the Sunset map’s structure and layout. Based on the information received via ValorLeaks and Riot Games’ official map trailer, Sunset will feature two sites. Moreover, there won’t be any special map features like teleporters, one-way zip lines, and such.

The overall layout of the map is full of tight archways, similar to those found in Pearl and Split, prioritizing close-range gunfights. With so many possible entry points and angles, it may get challenging for the Defenders to keep track of everything if they don’t have Sentinel Agents like Cypher and Killjoy.

When will Sunset Release?

VALORANT’s tenth official map: Sunset, will be released with the Episode 7 Act 2 update, which is scheduled to go live on August 29, 2023.

The last three maps, Lotus, Pearl, and Fracture, received overwhelmingly negative feedback upon their initial release. As a result, the VALORANT community hopes that Riot Games will break the trend and give them something they cherish.
