A new bug has surfaced on Ubisoft’s FPS shooter Rainbow Six Siege, and it is allowing defusers to fall through the map.

Yes, you have heard it right. After Rainbow Six Siege’s latest Y8S2.2 Patch, Ubisoft added a new Defuser Pickup option that lets players choose between Automatic, Manual, or Both. As the name suggests, for ‘Automatic,’ the defuser is picked up automatically when near its proximity, and for ‘Manual,’ you will have to press the designated button.

The “Both” setting is set by default, and it allows you to pick up the defuser manually by looking at it directly from far away; at the same time, if you get close to it, you will pick it up automatically.

And this new change is wreaking havoc in the Siege community. New clips are emerging on socials, which are both funny and frustrating as it completely breaks the game.

The slowed-down video above from CoreRoss clearly shows that the Defuser is falling through the map after being planted. And players who have planted on a hatch will know that if the defuser falls through the floor, it gets disabled, and the round is awarded to the Defenders automatically.

And the exact thing is happening with this defuser bug here. Defenders are winning the rounds after the Defuser gets planted by the Attackers, leading to unfairer matches.

Ubisoft has now addressed this game-breaking bug and decided to revert the new Defuser options until the bug has been fixed.

We will update you as soon as a fix is released, so make sure to follow us.
