Learn about Tarot Cards in The Quarry and their locations. Find them to get special privileges in the game.

Among the many collectibles in the game, Tarot Cards are the most interesting in the game. Being collectibles, they still help you out while playing the game a lot in a unique way. Hence they are quite significant, and you should invest your time in looking for them.

Tarot Cards let you have a glimpse of the future in some cryptic meaning. Essentially allowing you to act ahead to have things go your way. A unique addition to the narrative-driven genre, something that adds a bit of spice since you also have to unravel what the premonition really means. Through this, you can both save or kill someone and prepare yourself accordingly.

What are Tarot Cards in The Quarry

In each chapter of The Quarry, you can collect one or more Tarot Cards at different locations, from a total of 22 Tarot Cards in the whole game. After the chapter ends, mysterious and creepy fortune teller Eliza will read out each of the cards. She will describe what the cards mean and reveal premonitions regarding different characters’ fates but with very perplexing words. Mostly hints that you need to uncover.

Since uncovering the mysteries of these messages of the future can be a vital part of your and your crew’s fate, we made this guide for The Quarry, which outlines the locations from where you can find the Tarot Cards and pick them up.

But remember that like every other collectible, Tarot Cards in The Quarry do not carry over between playthroughs. If you miss some in one chapter, you cannot replay that specific chapter to get it. If you do, your Tarot Card collection will start from that chapter, and you have to collect the ones from the upcoming levels of the game again.

Progress is overwritten if you backtrack to an older chapter. Don’t worry as most of them are not too hard to find.

Prologue

The Fool

The Fool… I wonder who this is? We all know a fool when we see one. Don’t we? Innocence and freedom? Or recklessness and risk-taking? Spontaneity… Actions without thought, but the consequences to match. Think. Think and don’t get burnt.

When playing as Laura in the woods, take the left path from the split road. The camera will automatically show you The Fool to pick it up. The easiest of the Tarot Cards to find in The Quarry

Chapter 1 Tarot Cards

Temperance

Temperance. To be balanced, to consume in moderation. Or to indulge in excess. Temperance. Take it or leave it… but remember, sometimes, with temperance, comes deferred gratification.

Enter the lodge through the window as Jacob. Leave the study room and head right. Moving further, you’ll see the entrance to the kitchen on your left. Enter the kitchen to reveal the Temperance Tarot Card.

Chapter 2 Tarot Cards

The Hanged Man

The Hanged Man! To be the hanged man is to surrender… and by doing so, gain a new perspective. So look carefully, and consider that sometimes, one needs to be strung up in order to let go.

While playing as Nick, you will be walking down the woods with Abigail. When the prompt to choose from two different paths appear, pick “Rocky Path.” The Hanged Man Tarot card will be visible from the edge of a cliff in the following camera perspective.

Chapter 3 Tarot Cards

The Tower

The Quarry Tarot Cards

Jump free of your troubles. Fight or flight. That’s the question we all ask ourselves… but often when leaping out of danger, we’re still faced with certain peril. Watch your step, it could be your last.

Keep moving forward through the woods while playing Abigail. Walk till the end after the cutscene ends and take a left. The camera will shift and show The Tower card stuck to a tree.

The Star

The Star

Oh, it’s The Star. Stars. In the night sky. Beacons of light. Dreams of hope, purpose… or a reminder of our insignificance, fear of despair. Trust in the light of the star, with it comes clarity, and sometimes proof.

After Abigail and Nick’s scene with the werewolf in the forest, you will be playing as Jacob. Emma tells you to fetch some towels. While looking for the towels in the cabin, walk toward the canoes. You will see The Star card on the wall.

Chapter 4 Tarot Cards

The Magician

The Magician! The incredible, the unbelievable, the mystical, sensational!… Perceptive manipulation – the work of a magician. Now you see it. Now you don’t. Blink and you miss it. And you wouldn’t want to miss it.

When playing as Emma, head to the dock behind you. The Magician card is located at the end of the docks at a post.

Strength

Strength can be surprising. Knowing one’s own raw power. Tapping into a previously unknown energy. I suppose there are forces at work within us all… and with one hand it gives, and with the other it could rip away.

This one is hard to miss since you only have a couple of seconds to press the button prompt to grab it.

When Abigail, Nick, and Ryan make their way back to the lodge, the camera briefly shows the Strength card attached to the leg of a table. Quickly press the prompted button to pick it up, or else you will have to start this chapter from the beginning to try for a second time.

Chapter 5 Tarot Cards

The Devil

The Devil

The Devil. Without restriction, like a shadow torn from one’s corporeal form. Pay close attention and act before the demon’s unleashed. Each of us have one, even those who are pure of heart and say their prayers by night.

When you’re walking towards the radio hut with Ryan, go to the middle of the area where the tree with the swing is located. Walk between the two picnic tables to reveal the card attached below the picnic tables.

The Hermit

credits: Supermassive Games

Here we have The Hermit. With the hermit comes isolation, loneliness… but reflection, too. Perhaps, given some thought, the hermit who gives chase can guide you to safety. But that all depends on your actions, not his.

Do not enter the radio hut yet. Instead, go to the back of the hut through the left. Head towards where the antenna is, and you’ll see the card placed on one of the legs of the giant antenna.

Chapter 6 Tarot Cards

Justice

An eye for an eye. Not exactly, in some cases… but cause and effect. Actions and consequences. There’s a balance to everything, and we all play a part in making sure the scales aren’t tipped.

Walk along the wooden bridge playing as Jacob and when you reach the end, turn left immediately. Continue to walk, and you will quickly see the Justice Tarot card.

The Moon

The Moon

The Moon. How poignant. Tonight of all nights. To harness your fear and anxiety…. and turn them into tuition. If you can do this, and plan ahead – your cunning might just save your life.

After Nick’s pool dip, you’ll start playing as Abigail. Head to the central showers opposite Nick. Here move to the end of the showers to reveal The Moon card.

Chapter 7 Tarot Cards

The World

Ah, The World… Often travelers’ paths are direct. But sometimes, it is not so simple. Sometimes they’re intertwined with others. Compassion over anger. You’ll need friends where you’re going. It is not until we fall into the belly of the beast that we realize how perilous things can be.

When Laura is in her jail cell, walk toward the cell bars, the camera will shift to a perspective from below the bed, revealing the card.

The Chariot

The Chariot
credits: Supermassive Games

The Chariot! At the reins of a chariot, we would all feel safer. Taking control, relying on determination to make our choices. Valiant… but in some cases foolish. Many seek refuge in chariots, but perhaps, in some cases, they’re not as safe as we think they are.

After Laura is out of her cell, enter the next room into an office with chairs placed on desks. Walk towards the middle of these desks to reveal The Chariot Card from a top and angled camera view.

Chapter 8 Tarot Cards

The Lovers

The Lovers. There’s harmony in disagreement, brought to light only by sparks of passion. Blood flows from the heart. You can almost taste it. And tasting it could save someone’s life.

After Laura and Ryan fall into The Quarry from Hackett’s house, climb the metal stairs into the mines playing as Laura, and another cutscene plays. From here, walk a bit further to find another staircase. Instead of walking up the stairs, head left to another platform to find The Lovers Tarot Card.

Wheel of Fortune

The Quarry Tarot Cards Locations

The Wheel of Fortune. After all, fortune is nothing but a spinning wheel. Sometimes you have to take a chance. Karma works in mysterious ways, but it favors those who pay attention. Watch closely. Though the wheel spins, the eagle-eyed can tell where it’s going to stop.

Now head up to the stairs from the same mine area after getting The Lovers card to trigger a cutscene. Exploring further, you will reach a caved-in and boarded-up tunnel. Laura will remove the boards to enter the tunnel. As you go through it, you will easily locate the Wheel of Fortune.

The Empress

The Quarry Tarot Cards Locations
credits: Supermassive Games

The Empress. Look at her. Those at the top can fall the hardest. Such a shame – to nurture little monsters only to live long enough to watch them kill you. But it’s no less than she deserves.

After some brief moments of the game returning to the others, the game will return to Laura and Ryan. This time you will be controlling Ryan. Turn to your left and walk towards the room with the chairs to set the camera at an angle showing The Empress.

The Emperor

The Quarry Tarot Cards Locations
credits: Supermassive Games

The Emperor. Authority, paternity… Structures designed to topple, no? How the mighty may fall, and their empires with them. Let them bleed. let them rip each other apart. Let them rot.

Leave the room with The Empress card and walk past the barrels. The Emperor card will be visible easily.

Chapter 9 Tarot Cards

Death

Death takes many forms… it could mean change, transition, transformation… often interpreted as a beacon for the hopeful. In your case, it just means death.

After you take control of an injured Ryan trying to escape through the dumbwaiter, walk into the middle of the room you enter and just a bit away from the bed before doing anything else. The Death card will be visible.

The Sun

The Quarry Tarot Cards Locations
credits: Supermassive Games

The Sun. The vitality of a new day. There’s still time to wake up the warmth of a night survived. Your choices, your actions… Your very life hangs in the balance. It’s up to you to find your path in the darkness, and see the Sun rise once again.

As soon as the game lets you control Laura, go upstairs (the stairs are located beside a piano), head left, and then another left. Walk forward and enter the room to your right. The Sun will be seen if you stand in the middle of this room. Take it.

Judgement

The Quarry Tarot Cards Locations
credits: Supermassive Games

Judgement day is upon us! That’s what you’d expect from this card, isn’t it? Though perhaps in this case it’s simpler than that. Perhaps one’s own judgement, a snap decision to make, can save them from their own personal day of reckoning. Every step matters, every decision tipping the balance one way or the other. Take your time. Think. And maybe survive.

As Dylan, open the second gate using the garage, pass through this gate, turn left, and continue this path until you reach a bus tunnel. Enter the tunnel and climb the stairs to reach the top of a shipping container. Again turn left and keep walking back till you see the Judgement card.

The Hierophant

The Quarry Tarot Cards
credits: Supermassive Games

My poor boy. Do you see what they did to us? How they hurt us? He’s out there still. All alone. Each full moon they hunt him, armed with silver. Trying to put an end to a curse they inflicted upon themselves when they set my show ablaze six years ago. Stupid children. But little Silas. My little white wolf. He must be protected. You must not follow this path. Do you understand? Remember how I’ve helped you all this time.

Move Abigail away from the stairs and towards your right into a darker area at the lodge cellar. The Hierophant card will shine bright against the dark staircase area.

On the other hand, if you take this card, you won’t be shown premonitions for the other cards in this chapter. Instead, a special vision will be shown, revealing important bits of the whole story. Don’t worry. It is totally worth it.

Chapter 10 Tarot Cards

The High Priestess

The Quarry Tarot Cards

Eliza was killed in the fire that broke out at her traveling show six years ago. Her ghost roams the woods of Hackett’s Quarry ever since, and she’s been determined to get revenge on the Hackett family for what they did to her. Her tarot cards, once lost in the blaze, have allowed her to guide you through the night… though her motives may not have been as transparent as first thought.

As Kaitlyn, head upstairs when in the lodge just before the final attack scene. Enter the bunk room to your right or left if you cross the walkway and walk towards the ancestral portrait.

Climb the attic and move around. The camera will shift to an angle, revealing the last of the Tarot Cards in The Quarry, The High Priestess stuck to the roof.

These are all the Tarot Cards in Supermassive’s The Quarry, what they mean, and their locations throughout the game. Be sure not to miss any of them.
