TFT Patch 12.2 Notes: Tahm Kench Nerf, Viktor Buff, Lunar Legend Festival Event, and More

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) patch 12.2 is going to nerf meta champion Tahm Kench, buff Jayce, Jinx, & Viktor, feature the Lunar Legend Festival event, and more.

Although the last few patches have been comparatively small, TFT patch 12.1 stopped the Chemtech – Urgot meta and somewhat ended Kai’sa’s reign. However, after patch 12.1, Yordles became relatively strong, and Syndicate & Arcanist are being contested almost every game.

Moreover, after the recent nerfs, one champion in particular, Tahm Kench, is still dominating the current meta.

However, Teamfight Tactics Lead Designer, Riot Mort, has previewed the upcoming patch 12.2. And it seems Tahm Kench meta is finally coming to an end.

Here’s everything you need to know about early TFT Patch 12.2 Notes:

Release Date

TFT Patch 12.2 will release one day later than usual for a holiday on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Lunar Legend Festival Event

TFT will have its first-ever event called the Lunar Legend Festival Event: Gifts of the Golden Lantern to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The event is going live patch 12.2, January 20 at 11 AM PT. And the event will last throughout the end of patch 12.3.

The event is going to feature Year of the Tiger Protector, Chibi Firecracker Jinx, multiple variants of Duckbill, Dango, and Dowsie.

To participate in the event, just accept the invitation by hopping into a game.

Bug Fixes

  • Caitlyn’s ability can no longer hit invulnerable and untargetable objects (Hexcore, Guardian Angle stasis, etc.)
  • Fiora’s ability no longer fizzles if her target dies as she begins her cast
  • 1-Star Illaoi’s ability magic damage is now the intended 200 rather than 175
  • Units sold with Sniper Emblem can no longer retain their bonus +1 Attack Range
  • Dragon’s Claw no longer triggest against some physical abilities
  • Runaan’s Hurricane no longer applies Viktor’s armor shred
  • Bug Fix: Imperian 5’s damage buff on all Imperial units is no longer removed during some combats in uncommon situations
  • Fixed an issue where Crown augments would still appear when players had previously taken the Built Different augment. Soul augments that benefit the entire team are still allowed to appear (e.g. Enforcer Soul, Arcanist Soul)
  • Zac will no longer sometimes target the same enemy twice with his ability
  • Fixed a rare issue where Zac would deal double damage
