Terminus will get big buffs in League of Legends patch 14.4.

League of Legends season 2024 had some massive changes to its gameplay, shifting the meta completely. This includes map changes and Baron and Rift Herald reworks among many others. But the item system overhaul was the most noticeable among them.

Mythic items were removed as a category. New items with very unique effects were introduced. Almost all the champions had their playstyle somewhat altered to cope with the drastic meta change. Some champions like Trundle and Yorick became insanely effective due to the gained synergy from new item changes. Some champions, especially mages, lost their ways a bit due to the removal of Ludens Echo. All in all, the game still continues to go under changes every patch to a more stable meta.

Terminus was one of the new items that were introduced in this season. It is mainly an ADC item that also provides survivability in the form of Armor, Magic Resist, as well as offense through its armor and magic penetration. Despite seeming very overturned initially, it did not land the mark compared to other new items. The stats themselves were a bit underwhelming, proving to be completely irrelevant for the highest DPS dealers.

That’s why Riot is going to dial up some of the numbers of this item in patch 14.4. More details in this article.

The following are the changes that will be coming to League of Legends in the next patch:

  • Number of stacks reduced from 5 to 3
  • Resist per stack changed from 3/4/5 (1/11/14) to 6 – 8 (8 – 18)
  • Max resists changed from 15/20/25 to 18 – 24
  • Pen per stack increased from 6% to 10% (max unchanged)

The most noticeable changes, and the most potentially effective ones, are the reduction in required stacks to get the resist and penetrations. So, you needed 5 stacks to activate the penetration passive (for both AD and magic damage) and another 5 for the resists (Armor and MR). But now, the requirement for both cases will be reduced to 3. So, 6 in total for both types of stats.

Not to mention, Penetration per stack is going to be raised to 10%, providing even more boost to its offensive power. The resist per stack and max resist numbers have been slightly modified but they aren’t as big as the aforementioned ones.

Overall, these changes should make Terminus a viable item for Marksman champions, as well as the champion relying on attack speed (Yasuo, Yone, etc.)

When will Terminus Changes be Live?

All the mentioned changes to Terminus will be implemented into the game from patch 14.4, scheduled to be released on Thursday, February 22, 2024
