Misfits Gaming has sold its LEC slot to Team Heretics as the organization is set to join in 2023.

After a few days of rumors, Misfits Gaming officially sells their LEC slot to Team Heretics for 2023 and onwards. Team Heretics is set to join LEC 2023 Spring as the deal has been formally ratified, and we are excited to see what they bring.

Misfits will also be leaving the LFL, so we will not be seeing Misfits Gaming in League of Legends in the future. Regardless, Team Heretics is a Spanish organization with many teams across several leagues. It is an excellent addition to the LEC, considering the Spanish fan base behind them and more. It is sad to see Misfits go, as they have created a competitive roster in the past year or two. Misfits will continue for Summer 2022 and give way to Team Heretics in 2023.

Based on the official article, the players that have contracts with Misfits will remain with the team until the end of this season and the start of free agency. The prospect of Vetheo being in the open market might be an enticing deal in the coming offseason. There is no information yet regarding how Heretics want to construct their roster in the LEC but expect them to keep some players transitioning to the future.

New organizations have taken some time to settle in the LEC, so expect nothing less of that. Hopefully we will see a competitive roster for Team Heretics in 2023.
