The GTA 6 leak situation has taken another major legal turn. Take-Two Interactive has filed new requests in the Southern District of New York seeking DMCA subpoenas aimed at uncovering identifying information connected to the people behind the recent Grand Theft Auto VI leaks.

The latest filings target both X and Google, expanding Take-Two’s effort to trace accounts that allegedly distributed copyrighted GTA 6 material online. The move follows similar legal action involving Microsoft and Discord as the publisher attempts to identify those responsible for the leaks.

In brief

  • Take-Two is seeking a DMCA subpoena requiring X to provide information that could identify @cyberleek_ar_io.
  • A separate filing targets Google over GTA 6 footage uploaded to YouTube.
  • The Google documents connect the disputed content with the online personas CyberLeaks, Surfer24k, and CyberLeek_ar_io.
  • The filings are part of Take-Two’s widening investigation into the recent GTA 6 leaks.

Take-Two Targets CyberLeek’s X Account

The X filing asks the court clerk to issue a subpoena to X Corp. for information identifying the alleged infringer behind “cyberleek”

Court documents specifically point to three posts published through the account that Take-Two claims contained infringing material.

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, copyright owners can request a subpoena requiring a service provider to disclose information sufficient to identify an alleged infringer.

Google and YouTube Are Also Being Targeted

Take-Two has made a separate request involving Google. The filing identifies a YouTube video that allegedly contained copyrighted GTA 6 material and says the content is believed to be associated with the online personas CyberLeaks, Surfer24k, and CyberLeek_ar_io.

According to the documents, Take-Two claims its GTA VI copyrights cover material including audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, and other creative elements.

Take-Two’s GTA 6 Leak Hunt Is Expanding

The new filings arrive shortly after Take-Two also sought information from Microsoft and Discord as part of its attempt to trace CyberLeek and related accounts. Those earlier requests reportedly sought account, device, IP, and other identifying records.

There is one important legal distinction. The documents are formally requests to the court clerk for issuance of DMCA subpoenas. They show Take-Two is actively seeking identifying information, but they do not by themselves establish that X or Google has already handed over the identities of anyone involved.

This story is still developing, and we will update this article with more up-to-date information as soon as it is available.
