The Blood of Dawnwalker has only been out for around a week, but modders are already finding ambitious ways to change how Rebel Wolves’ vampire RPG can be played. One creator has now added an experimental two-player co-op mode, letting two people explore Vale Sangora together on the same PC.
Called Dawnwalker Together, the fan-made mod was created by Nexus Mods user MrSecondPlayer and introduces local split-screen multiplayer to a game originally designed as a single-player experience.
In brief:
- Dawnwalker Together adds experimental two-player split-screen co-op.
- Player 1 uses keyboard and mouse, while Player 2 uses a controller.
- Both players can independently move, look around, jump, and participate in basic combat.
- The mod is still in alpha and does not support online multiplayer.
Blood of Dawnwalker Co-Op Mod Is Already Playable

Dawnwalker Together is currently on version 0.1.0 and was uploaded to Nexus Mods on September 10. That means the community managed to get a functional multiplayer experiment running only around a week after The Blood of Dawnwalker launched on September 3.
The current version supports horizontal split-screen, with Player 1 using keyboard and mouse and Player 2 using an XInput-compatible controller.
Player 2 currently gets several independent features, including:
- Movement and camera control
- Jumping
- Player 1’s current clothing
- A visible longsword
- Experimental melee attacks
- Basic enemy aggression after attacking
The mod requires the Windows version of The Blood of Dawnwalker as well as a compatible installation of UE4SS.
Don’t Expect Full Blood of Dawnwalker Multiplayer Yet
As impressive as it looks, Dawnwalker Together is still a very early alpha. It is strictly local co-op, meaning there is currently no network or online multiplayer support.
Most of the game also continues to treat Player 1 as the main character. Quests, dialogue choices, cutscenes, saves, and progression are tied to Player 1, while Player 2 lacks a complete inventory and ability system. Menus, fast travel, cutscenes, deaths, and loading saves can also cause the second player to disappear or become desynchronized.
The creator recommends backing up saves before testing the mod.
Still, getting functional split-screen multiplayer into such a new single-player RPG this quickly is an impressive proof of concept. If development continues, Dawnwalker Together could eventually turn exploring Vale Sangora with a friend into a surprisingly viable way to play.
