Because of the recent AP burst meta in League of Legends, Riot is doing some systematic proc nerfs on items.

With the release of season 14, we have seen the introduction and reworks of many items in League of Legends. And as expected from any new season, some of the items are not as good as others, while others are strong and overtuned. Currently, AP damage or burst items are the most broken items in the game.

Since then, AP bruisers and mages have been taking over the game. The main reasons were the new items like Stormsurge and Luden’s Companion. Additionally, reworked items like Riftmaker and Liandry’s Torment were also getting a lot of uses. Unlike the previous seasons, where they could not use both Liandry’s and Riftmaker as they were mythic items, they can buy and use both simultaneously in the current patch.

With that said, most of the AP items got nerfed not too long ago in patch 14.2. Even so, many of the AP champions and items that didn’t get much nerfs then are still very strong in the meta. And after the AP nerfs,

With that said Riot Games has revealed that they are doing some systematic proc nerfs on AP items to reduce burst damage.

League of Legends Patch 14.3: Systematic Proc Nerfs

As stated before, with this new season, Riot tried to make mage’s life easier by giving them more options. But those options were greatly overturned. But after nerfing these, most burst options are in a good position. So Riot Phroxzon discussed the systematic proc nerfs that are coming out in the next patch.

Firstly, they are buffing AP mana items like Luden’s Companion, Rod of Ages, Archangels, Malignance, etc. These nerfs were supposed to come out before.; however, as the burst damage was still a huge problem, they delayed the buffs. But now they are finally coming out.

Alongside these buffs, Riot will be nerfing some burst items. These items are Hextech Alternator, Rocketbelt, Echoes of Helia, Shiv, Stormrazor, Profane Hydra, Lich Bane, and Titanic Hydra.

The problem with these items is that they provide a lot of scaling. So, a lot of snowball champions can snowball even harder with these items. Thus, in the end, there are no counterplays against these items. And that’s why these items are getting nerfed in patch 14.3.
