Guinsoo’s Rageblade is getting some much-needed changes in Patch 14.3.
The system was originally added in hopes of adding more build diversity to the game, but it had the opposite effect. It restricted the build paths of most classes in that game and made itemization too linear. Riot tried to fix the system many times, but it ultimately failed. Thus, Riot finally removed it.
Riot also removed several Mythic items from the game as a result of the change. Mythic items such as Duskblade of Draktharr, Galforce, and Everfrost are now all gone. But some did come back in the form of Legendary items, and one of these items is Guinsoo’s Rageblade.
As an item, Guinsoo’s Rageblade was a pretty niche but strong item. However, with the update, Guinsoo’s Rageblade lost some of its strength. Its build path changed, and it lost a lot of stats, making the item very weak in comparison.
Because of this, Riot intends to significantly buff Guinsoo’s Rageblade. So, in this article, we’ll look at the buffs that are coming in Patch 14.3.

Patch 14.3 Guinsoo’s Rageblade Changes
- Recipe changed from Heartbound Axe + Long Sword + Amplifying Tome to Recurve Bow + Pickaxe + Amplifying Tome (Total cost remains unchanged)
- AD increased from 30 to 35
- AP increased from 30 to 35
Guinsoo’s Rageblade after the Season 14 update was pretty bad. Heartbound Axe, which the new Guinsoo’s Rageblade was made out of, was a pretty inefficient item, and players had to wait for another 1050 gold to fully upgrade the item after getting all its components. Not only that, it had lackluster stats.
Thus, Riot is finally changing its build path from Recipe from Heartbound Axe + Long Sword + Amplifying Tome to Recurve Bow + Pickaxe + Amplifying Tome. They are also increasing its AP and AD by 5.
These changes should make buying the item much easier and more satisfying to use.
The aforementioned Guinsoo’s Rageblade changes are coming out in Patch 14.3, which is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
