Stridebreaker will receive huge changes to power up the fighters in Lol patch 14.3.
Patch 14.1 in League of Legends had been one of the biggest item change-makers. Not only were the mythic items received, but new items were also brought in. The previous items that remained also received significant changes.
One such item is Stridebreaker. In patch 14.1, it had an overhaul in its recipe, since the mythic component Ironspike Whip was removed. The new Stridebreaker now gives movement speed upon dealing physical damage as its unique passive. The active also slows enemies and gives bonus movement speed per number of enemies slowed.
Stridebreaker also received some stat changes in patch 14.2. The numbers for the slows, attack speed growth, damage, etc were hotfixed as adjustments. The item will again receive changes in the upcoming patch 14.3. This time, the changes will be a big deal, just like in patch 14.1.
With that said, let’s take a look at all the upcoming changes to Stridebreaker.

Huge Stridebreaker Changes in Patch 14.3
The changes for Stridebreaker in patch 14.3 are as follows:
- Active now deals 80% of AD physical damage
- Phage swapped for Tiamat in the recipe (unique with other hydras)
- Cost increased from 3000 to 3300
- Health increased from 400 to 450
- AD reduced from 55 to 50
- Active cooldown reduced from 20 seconds to 15
- Now deals 40%/20% AD physical damage cleave passively
The biggest change here is clearly the swap of Phage with Tiamat, technically making it another Hydra item. This is made clear by the passive cleave damage.
Health from the item has increased by 50, which I think is quite a small increment, given that most fighters already have enough ways to sustain HP. Active will deal 80% AD as physical damage, although it’s unclear if it’s in addition to the slow or a substitute.
5 AD reduction from the item is reasonable because the passive and active damage should more than make p for it. Cooldown reduction on active is another big change. This just makes them ready for more frequent skirmishes.
Overall, this might bring the Stridebreaker meta back. Garena and Darius are 2 champions who I think will greatly benefit from it. If the slow from the item is retained, then it will be one of the biggest changes to this item ever made. Since a slow on top of increased damage, CDR and passive cleave damage seem a bit too overturned. But it cannot be denied that Stridebreaker needed this change, which seems like a buff overall.
Release Date
All these Stridebreaker changes will be executed once patch 14.3 drops onto the live servers on February 7, 2024.
