Starting with a crew of four members, you can hire ten more. You will get the chance to upgrade Crew Capacity as you play through the main story. At a bar, when you see new upgrade notifications, go to your submarine’s upgrade screen and purchase Bunk Beds. This lets you hire more crews, increasing crew capacity.

However, doing this is not always easy as it requires Fragments, the rarer currency of SteamWorld Heist 2. You’ll earn some as you play but to gain a good number of them, you’d have to farm them for some time. After upgrading your Bunk Beds, you will find new crew members interested in joining, hire them using Gallons, and strengthen your team.

Don’t forget to give your crew members the most suitable jobs, upgrade their skills by undertaking missions, and equip the best gear.
